PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2007-Present      Urey Middle School, Walkerton, IN

                  Reading Teacher

           

After 5 years in the high school, I made the transition to middle school students with a concentration on Reading. It is here where I was given the opportunity to teach a class about bass fishing. In this course I have arranged a mini bass tournament for students. In this tournament, students are partnered up with a local tournament fisherman in their bass boat to fish for a day. Their largest bass is weighed in and the winner is awarded a prize. It is part of my efforts to promote fishing, provide a positive role model, and unique experience for children.

2002-2007      Knox Community High School, Knox, IN

                     English Teacher/Yearbook Advisor

Throughout five years in the high school I was honored twice (2006, 2007) as Most Inspirational Teacher. I was also the Yearbook Advisor in which I inherited a seventeen thousand dollar deficit. Within 2 years, I was able to turn that debt into a five thousand dollar surplus.
