Top Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 if anyone here owns or knows of a plastic company looking for a pro-staffer drop me a line and eye'll check out the site Kid you need to know how to spell I'll first before you can even consider yourself a "pro-staffer" *sigh* Since I know your just 13, I am trying not to be rude but after the last few days of your postings and your butchering the english language its getting really hard not to... senko_77 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 seriously dude. it is next to impossible to get a sponsor at this age. I have a very mild sponsorship with tru-tungsten. they will send me stuff, but not that much. there is no financial support from them, and the only reason they "sponsored" me was a pro fisherman i am freinds with that was doing a job for there display booth, put in a good word for me and showed them the huge fish i caught, and i just got lucky. They are waiting till i turn 18 to start the big stuff. my recomendations are 1) learn to spell "I" 2) concentrate on fishing skills for the next few years 3) do things that will help your resume be more attractive 4) practice public speaking, and ways of promoting small things, so you get comfortable talking to a crowd but please please please dont spell I eye anymore. it is so freakin annoying Quote

When using I, don't use i. Don't is with 't in it. Friends is ie not ei. This is how to spell recommendations. I try to write my stuff in an email first to get spell check, then copy and paste it on here. Works for me. I don't do it all the time, but if you are going to correct someone on grammar and spelling, make sure you are in the right yourself. Squid Quote
Top Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 PFFFT Senko can you say OWNED???? hahahahahaha don't feel bad kid... I got OWNED yesterday... AL Quote
topwtr81 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 hey guy's lay off the kid please, the last thing we need to beat down a young angler who has a dream. crankinking you're resume is written very well for a young guy but even though these guy's are whippin you a little they have some good point's before you try to get sponsor's fish some more tourney's and make a name for yourself, and when you are not fishing get a job outside school to help support the habit. At your age you need to be on the water as much as possible and when you start signing sponsor's you're time will become stretched, case in point this february 9 of my day's off that would be spent fishing will be spent traveling to all 9 Gander Mtn's in Ny to train the staff on fish hedz. so take your time and have fun and all you guy's remember what it was like being 13 and senko77 you seem to be ahead of the curve keep it up and be a little more encouraging to other's your age Peace out Quote
Top Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I hear what your saying Top... I wasn't being hard on the kid... I just think that if he wants to play with the "big dogs" he needs to act like one of the big dogs... I guarantee you that no one is going to give him any type of a "pro staff" deal the way things are... I could send him 5 packs of free stuff but that would be me just being nice to him... He isn't looking for that he is looking to be a Big Dog and as such I am treating him like an adult. Its not me being mean.. its me treating him as an equal.. NOW if he was just showing his enthusiasm that would be different he would wouldn't be getting any flack from anyone... remember I am tough on everyone... myself included... in fact I am probably harder on myself than on anyone else..Hell I would glady go fishing with ANYONE just for the pleasure... and I 100% agree the last thing you want to do is "beat down" a kid.. but on the same token the last thing in the world you want to do is just blow sunshine up someones butt and encourage him to think that stuff will just be given to him because "he wants it' isn't right, he doesn't even take time to spell things correctly... I WANT a sponsor to give me a full wrap deal but I know that is just not going to happen because I am not at the level I need to be to even THINK about it... Is this his fault? noooo hahahahah but its just my way of showing you my point... This world can be very hard and for someone to think that all he has to do is write a decent resume with very little substance and say I want... *shaking head* sorry I am not being hard on him... just being honest... AL Quote
crankin_king Posted January 28, 2006 Author Posted January 28, 2006 personaly SFC I don't see you as being "hard" on me..I do appreciate being honest with me though so thank you..now do me a favor lets forget about all this that I have recently posted and get back to fishing Quote
BassChaser57 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 WHOA GUYS, Lets encourage young people to have dreams instead of badgering them. I think it is great for young anglers to have a desire to dream and have goals. Lets help get these young folks on the road to fishing for a lifetime and being on a great website like this one instead of other web junk. To all the young anglers -- THANKS FOR YOUR ENTHUSIASM!!! 8-) Quote

squid Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Senko knew where I was coming from, and didn't feel that I was offending him. Just admitting that if you are going to correct someone, make sure you are in the right. Topwtr, Good luck on the FH Training in the GM's. Still trying to get the closest ones to me to order them. njoynlfe Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 IMO..we shouldn't be bashing each other..Especially a young angler...We(as adults)should be a little more understanding of them and try to help them as much as we can, even if it is with something as little as the spelling thing..Hey little guy..Stay with your dream..Never loose focus, and you will suceed, and as my favorite angler says....NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Not bashing anyone. If you haven't noticed, this is the resume section. Spelling should count here. Why? Cause this is where everyone comes to READ ABOUT YOU. I even mis-spell words in the other sections, but this is where it matters the most, if looking for sponsors. Plus, this is a great place to practice writing your resumes, with proper spelling and grammer. We are all here to help each other, and that means helping them with their spelling. Squid Quote
