David_E Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Personal Information I was born September 26, 1962 in Texas City, TX. We moved to southeast Arkansas in 1965 where I grew up. After graduating high school I attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello for 3 ½ years. I have worked for the Pine Bluff Police Department for seven years. Prior to this I worked for Arkansas Department of Corrections for 13 ½ years. During my time with Pine Bluff Police Department, I have finished a BS in Criminal Justice. I married my wife, Shannon, in 2004 and have an 18-year-old daughter, Ashley, from a previous marriage. I fish as many days as my wife and my job will allow, which is never enough. Affiliations & Leadership Roles Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League (Redman) 1998-Present I made the regional tournament the last two complete years I fished as a Co-Angler. Two 5th place finishes in 2001, one 8th place finish in 2002, and one 19th place finish in 2005. FLW Stren Series (EverStart) 1998 Seventh place finish in the EverStart Challenge Bluff City Bass Club 1993-1996 Vice-President 1996 During my membership time in Bluff City, I had numerous top five finishes and made the Arkansas State Bass Federation Tournament three time, one of which I declined to fish the EverStart Challenge in 1998. Blue Knights International 2002 Present Vice-President 2005-2006 President 2007 Free and Accepted mason Pine Bluff Lodge #69 Master of the Lodge 1994 District Deputy Grand Master District #9 1996 Lodge Secretary 2001-2003 Public Speaking I am a Field Training Officer (FTO) with Pine Bluff Police Department and am in the process of becoming a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). In my capacity as an officer and FTO and DRE, I am called upon to speak to different groups. I have taken courses to make me a better public speaker and have a lot of experience in speaking to the public. Conclusion I have experience in many areas that can benefit your products. I will work hard to get your products looked and tried by others. I will bring out their strong points and proudly tell everyone who will listen how your products help me with my fishing. Admittedly, I do not have the great tournament wins nor the extensive background some others have but I have a strong will and I do not have problems speaking with people or to groups. I work hard to be a good, decent, and honest person and try to put forth an ethical and respectable personal image. I believe can be an asset to your company and do whatever I can to be of assistance in selling your products. Thank you for your attention. BassChaser57 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 "Admittedly, I do not have the great tournament wins nor the extensive background some others have" I would leave out any statement that could be construed as a negative. Let the potential sponsors decide the validity of your fishing experience. You obviously have a passion for life and have proven your desire to make the world around you a better place. Your being comfortable with people and public speaking rings loud and clear which is a huge personal attribute. It is my opinion that sponsors are looking for someone who will represent their company with integrity and gain public resect for the goals of the sponsor. Another way to say it is that if people believe and trust you then they will try the product because they trust and respect you. There are a few fantastic anglers that I would have no desire in buying anything they were promoting as I do not think they are genuine. You should have sponsors courting you sooner rather than later with a resume like that. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. P.S. Look at RW as an example, he has never won the Classic (to my knowledge)but he probably has been responsible for more Fat Ika's sales than any other person all because he is highly respected and trusted.
