"To introduce and create new relationships in the bass fishing industry"

That is the crux to obtaining sponsorship, and the way that occurs is by becoming known in the industry. Let me assure you that the industry neighborhood is small. There are no shortcuts. It takes but a short time for one to become known, whether good or bad.

To garner sponsorship you need to place yourself in position to become known.

Of course first you have to decide for yourself what you consider sponsorship is.

Sponsor Offers:

§      Display sponsor logos on tournament apparel both on/off the water.

§      Display sponsor logos on vehicle that travels over 20,000 mile annually.

§      Work/attend fishing, boating, outdoor, and other agreed upon sponsor related events.

§      Display sponsor logos on: http://www.myspace.com/stevenfelderfishing

§      Distribute sponsors promotional materials/samples at events.

The hard questions:

So what sets you apart from every other tournament fisherman who is looking for sponsors? What is your niche? If you don't have one then what do you plan on doing to find it?

Will you be able to show your sponsors on paper how much money you have made them in the last year? Can you show proof that you are increasing their bottom line?

Things that can set you apart.....

Can you organize your own seminar?

Can you draw a crowd to those seminars?

Can you speak in front of large crowds and communicate clearly?

Can you write?

Can you get your sponsors product into stores?

Can you get the product into the hands of people and change their mind about it? Can you WOW them?

See what I'm getting at? Don't just do what everyone else is doing. Don't just offer what everyone else is offering. Make yourself stand above the crowd so you are the one who they see first. Think bigger, better and outside of the box.
