Buzbait88 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Who would you want to contact about getting a sponsorship. I read earlier that you want to contact the right person. So lets say I wanted to contact rapala for a sponsorship, I went to the investor relations and these are the three people you can contact Olli Aho(investor relations), Rapala VMCC corporation or the CFO. Not saying I'm going to I just want to know who the person is that is best likely to recieve your information and respond to it. Thanks Quote
earthworm77 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Generally a large corporation has regional managers. Several of my sponsors operate like this. I would guess that because Rapala is so large, they too have regions of operation in the US. Take a look at their website and even inquire as to a contact in your area. Then solicit that individual. I am not sure if Rapala sponsors anyone who isn't a Pro angler though.-C Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Just about everyone I know that has TRUE sponsorship, at a national level, has BEEN contacted BY the sponsors, not the other way around. If you are looking for product sponsorship, often the marketing and or Human Resources are the people you want to call. Quote
cabela10 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I am not sure if Rapala sponsors anyone who isn't a Pro angler though.-C I'm from Minnesota and since Rapala is a Minnesota based company, I know for a fact that Rapala sponsors a lot of local pro's and am's. I fished in a Gander Mountain Pro/Am Bass event with the Rapala sales rep., I believe his name is Mark Fisher. His home lake is Lake Minnetonka and he does many shows with the Lindners family in Minnesota. I would suggest you stay away from Rapala as a potential sponsor because you need to have an "in" with Rapala to even be suggested for sponsorship. We have some high standards up here in Minnesota. ;D Quote
Hale Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Just about everyone I know that has TRUE sponsorship, at a national level, has BEEN contacted BY the sponsors, not the other way around. This info can be taken the wrong way....wait and you shall not receive. If you want it you have to go after it! And what dictates a a 'TRUE' sponsorship? $55,000 worth of entry fees paid for each year? At that level you are picking and choosing sponsors. But ask them how they got to that point with sponsors? Did they just hope and wait someone would call becuase they know how to fish? You know the true answer to that. Quote
CSB Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Real marketing opportunities (not product sponsorships) will not come to you except under extremely rare circumstances (youre a minority, you have some form of gift that perfectly fits the companies marketing strategy, etc.) because there are a million wannabe's that think mailing resumes to 500 companies asking for money is going to get it done. The majority never reach a decision makers hands, they just go "on file", AKA File 13. Quote
