Went to BPS last night with my girlfriend and we walked past the Lucky Craft isle and I told her how good they look. She said if you could have one what would you pick, so I showed her.  Well today she came up to me and said she had something for me, since we have been dating coming up on 2 and a half years, and she gave me a Lucky Craft Pointer 100 in American Shad. She said I wanted to get you a little something, man was i stoked. Cant wait to try it out.

I'm almost afraid to fish them. :-X

Then they will not work as well? Buy a lure retriever or two and cast them into the nastiest places you can find. You would probably flinch if you saw some of the places I cast a $27 megabass jerkbait? (trust me a lure retriever will pay for itself in about 5 hours of fishing) If you do not fish where the fish are that wonderfully expensive bait will not work as well as the guy casting a $2 Wal-Mart jerkbait where the fish actually are.

I've got a plug retreiver, I just wonder if it will work.  Also carry a couple of spark plugs.

In the summer it isn't so bad (unless I'm river fishing) as I'll just go in after it (see my Gettin Nekkid thread from last summer).

I'm actually not all that afraid as I throw $25 swimbaits in some nasty places.  But then again I've got 50 lb. P-Line braid tied on to pull them out.

Are you fishing in the Potomac? I am not familiar with the part of VA you are from?

If the Pointer 100 American Shad is your first LC, it won't be the last.  Just an awesome lure.

On a side note, what's up with women and picking out that exact lure?  I got four of them in my tackle box: one from my wife on my birthday, one from my mother in law, one from my daughter on X-mas and another one from my wife on X-mas.  None of these women have a clue about fishing and all I asked for was a Lucky Craft lure once for my birthday.  I thought these strange creatures talked to each other.

It's was probably the 'cutest' one  ;):)

You'll be fishing Lucky Craft jerkbaits 99% of the time now!!!!  That 1 will turn into 2 and next thing you know you'll have a box full of them.
