Triton21 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Roland is the biggest A$$hole I ever met but I got to give the Devil his due, he is one of the best fisherman that ever lived. Kelley Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 He coudln't stay away could he haha. But thats awsome he is coming back. Theres really only person I would love to see back In B.A.S.S. actually back in general but will never happen and thats Bryan Kerchal. Many of you probably don't know who he was and probably surprised I know who he is. Not surprised at all. I have the Bassmaster magazine he was on the cover of after he won the classic in a frame in my garage right next to my rods. He is a great source of inspiration to me and a great example of how to conduct yourself. Yea my goal in Life has always been to be like him (except for leaving this world prematurally). He is a prime example of how someone without much experience but with drive, determination, and pride could make their dreams come true. You watch the 94 Classic highlights and get a glimpse of the gentlemen he was. On stage after he won, Ray Scott said "Your a hamburger flipper right, that's what you do?" Bryan just replied with "I don't know, do I still do that?" Humility is a most admirable trait. is there anyway to find that video? Quote
Go Time Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I wonder what changed. He says in the article that he is only so so mentally. I heard on a interview TFR did with him that the redfish tournaments he has been fishing went away. So he has been competing, just not bass. Seeing him come back to BASS he obviously can't live with out the competition. I sure hope I have that kind of drive when I'm 70! Quote
unclejed Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I think he is just trying to get back to the Classic. If he can win one of the three Opens, he's in the Classic. I hope to see him do it. Quote
Nick Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 He's a great competitor, rule bender, and cagey business man. Tournament angling suits him. Quote

1inStripes Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Very good showing for him on the first day. Kinda interested to see how Ott DeFoe does since he fishes alot of our local lakes. Quote
Sfritr Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 OOOooooooo Son!!!!!!!!!! I grew up watching his shows. Good for you Roland. I just hope this isn't a ploy for him to push some more products.... Fishing with Roland Martin is brought to you by ????????????? Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 24, 2011 Super User Posted January 24, 2011 During the ESPN "Greatest Angler Debate" in 2005, I voted for Martin over Clunn. Though I was real happy to see the G-Man win the Southern Open, I was looking forward to at least meeting Roland Martin. We looked in every boat for the stocky old pro, but then we finally learned that Roland had dropped to 18th place during the 2nd day, and missed the cut by 6 spots. That was a bummer for us > Roger Quote
