Bobby Uhrig Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I took one of my team Megastrike members (HIAWATHA) and the kid across the street Buzzbaiting last night around 6 pm. I knew just by the feel it was going to be a good one. The bass are getting into their Fall patterns and the water is cooling. We honestly caught around 30 great bass (I never caught a bad one) last night. The biggest actually came on a 1/8 oz. The reason we were throwing the smaller ones is there wasnt a ripple on the water and it mimiced a fleeing baitfish. here are some pics [ftp]www.cavitronlures.com[/ftp] Russ has these on sale at [ftp]www.***[/ftp] for a limited time. TopDog Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Very cool report! I love those buzzbaits. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 I didnt even post half of the pics. We were catching doubles. it was just one of those nights-Gotta love it Quote
rondef Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Awesome, I love the Cavitron buzzbaits. The last two days have been very productive with them. Quote
BassBandit35 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Nice fish! Question, in the video it shows skirt being submerged with of course the blade on surface like a spinnerbait. Mine does not do that at all unless I retrieve it REALLLLY slow or the skirt will turn its sideway along with blade buzzing other side instead of skirt go under. Also not to mention that when I have the rod tip up high and its going left instead of straight toward me. Is this the norm with all other buzzbait? Have 4 of them from last year and they're all like that. Solution??? Quote
Castamasta Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 dang those are some nice fish. just got my buzzbaits in the mail today!!! thanks bobby Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 10, 2008 Super User Posted September 10, 2008 I love a good buzzbait bite, seems like they were active. Cavitrons rock, no other buzzbait even comes close, except maybe the accent lures hi rider. But Cavitrons beat the socks of even those. Quote
Top Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 have to love a productive night huh? AL Quote
kikstand454 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 eh... if you bend the arm on a bzbt to one side or another you can totally change the way it tracks back to you. this is good. i like to use this to my advantage when fishing stucture like docks or cypress by fishing the shady side or down current and tracking the bzbt towards the structure. itll run right up under a dock, or bang right into that line of trees..... over and over every cast. this is really good when you have a flooded shoreline and can posistion parallel to the flooded timber or whatever and bang the bzbt all the way down the line. killer. try taking a sharpie and writing "L" or "R" on the blade so you know which way it goes. get several. black or white/chart. also if you beleive the "squeak" hype- take some pliers and squeeze the grommet down behind the blade of your bzbt. make sure the grommet is tight and doesnt spin. itll sound like a mouse in a blender. good luck. dont forget that trailer hook!!! Bobby Uhrig Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Bandit, Like I said when I introduced *** to this site- he will answer questions about techniques and tackle as good if not better than anyone in the industry. He is going to be a real aide to the fishermen here-both beginners and advanced anglers. OK now for your question. Like Russ stated. All of the components of the bait -no matter if its a buzzbait-spinnerbait or crankbait must be alligned. If one of the components is out of align then it causes the bait to be unbalanced. One of the features so many anglers like about the cavitron is- ITS made or is designed to be fished slowly. The degree or angle of the cups on the blade causes more resistance. The larger the angle or cup-the more reststance or drag. What that does is slow the bait down. If you reel it to fast -it will not be able to disapate the water and cause the bait to roll. If you open the cup-the water flows easier(less resistance) and you can reel it faster. Also keep the rod tip at the 10 o'clock position. Raising it hight to the 11 or 12 oclock position can also cause the bait to roll. Make sure to adjust the alignment after every fish caught or when you notice the bait rolling on its side. I have caught hundreds of bass on a single bait and all ya have to do is tweak or adjust it -its easy once you get the hang of it. Now get your tail out there and catch some fish. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 12, 2008 Super User Posted September 12, 2008 I can attest that Cavitrons hold up well, because they are my favorite pike lure of all time. I've caught more pike on a cavitron than many lures combined, and pike up in the 40" range. Pike destroy baits, but I've only had a couple baits I had to retire due to so many pike caught them. Quote
rondef Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Bobby, I caught two on the ghost minnow Cavitron you sent me the other night. Unfortunately they were not picture worthy, only about 1.5lbs each. I will be using this again in tomorrow morning at one of my honey holes. I am hoping to be able to post some pictures of some nice size bass when I get back home. The weather my play a factor. Quote
