Lots of whirly-twirly action vs subtlety.....think about it.  Creatures typically have a lot of "action" appendages.  Jigs are much more subtle.

I have found ***'s *** is a killer on a snagless Slider Head for shallow active fish.  For just a bit more profile and action the Lunker City Ozmo fills the bill.

Post front conditions see me fishing a lot of jigs or more subtle plastics.

Jigs imitate a crawfish correct? Ever see a crawfish in the wild? Being a Cajun I've seen millions of them and to be honest there aint much action, a flip of the tail and it move 3 or 4' and settles back to the bottom that's about it.

Creature baits imitate? I don't know but I do know the catch bass so I don't ask why!

When to use them? Any time I'm on the water I'll have a Jig-N-Craw tied on and a Texas Rigged plastic of some kind year round.

Both work you just need to figure out which one they like that day. Generally jigs work better spring and fall while creature baits seem better in summer months.

Well...I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion...

The main difference on a given day is whether bass are relating to baitfish or bottom bugs. I guess I really fish a blend, since most trailers I use are a "creature" rather than a chunk. My point is, I fish the  GYCB "Kreature" fast, like a spinnerbait. Jigs I fish slow, real slow. With jigs, I'm always on the bottom, but the position in the water column varies with the Kreature.

maybe in "general". i find that farther from the truth. i find jigs as one of the only lures that will work year round, atleast consistantly.if i recall, i thought jigs were originaly designed for sluggish, cold water fish? oh, to stay on topic, i would chose a jig over a creature bait anyday.
