Hey y'all I am trying to help organize a "small craft" tournament around here.  I have never fished any tournament.  It will be 14ft or smaller, no gas motors.  Probably a three bass limit.  I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas/tips on a rules list and such.  It probably isn't going to be anything fancy, just a group of little boats having a nice tournament on some local lakes.  I just wanted to make sure it is all run fairly and easily.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I would start by checking out the rules of some established clubs/trails. No need to reinvent the wheel. Most will be listed on the club or trails web site.

Castawaysbassfishing.com is a small vessel club. Might be a good one to check out.

Might also be a good idea to have a caveat at the end of the rules list that states something about a tournament committee making final decisions. (Then of course you need to recruit a couple guys to be on that committe.)

If it's just you deciding a controversial situation, and that situation involves you or one of your buddies, you are looking at a sticky situation.      :-/

I like the idea of the 3 fish limit-since you cant run and gun like the 225 bass boat. Maybe even try a tourny- biggest fish wins, most everyone would weigh one in and fell like they have a shot.
