KevO Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm thinking about doing some wacky jiggin for deep water smallies but I have a question or two? Can I use any old jig head for this application? What weight would you recommend for fishing 30' of water? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 15, 2008 Super User Posted September 15, 2008 I would rather drop shot in 30 FOW. I generally use wacky jigging in 5-15 FOW. If you go to a heavier weight to get the bait down, you lose some of the appeal of the slow, waggling fall. Quote
basspro48 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Like JF, I would think drop-shotting would be more effective in water that deep. In fact you could just tie up a ds rig with a long leader and wacky rig a worm on it. Then you could get the bait down but still have that slow enticing fall of a wacky worm. Ike calls this technique the "wet noodle rig" Quote
