I've been working grave shift for 14 yrs so my body is already screwed up! that said, I never had a problem sleeping before tourneys back 30 yrs. funny thing is I always wake up and I'm wide awake immediately.

my only butterflies show up in the short period just before the blast off, while just chillin in the boat!

Yes, I sleep very well. I take a night time sleep aid/supplement called melatonin. I take about 3 to 6mg of it almost every night. It calms my nerves and gives me a great quality sleep w/o the hangover of an Ambien or another sleep aid. I actually started taking it to help me sleep before tournaments and learned about it while in school, but now it helps me have a quality sleep so I'm fresh the next day. You already have the hormone melatonin in your body which controls your sleep cycles and the tablet promotes healthier sleep patterns. Doctors use melatonin to help people with insomnia or if you just have problems sleeping. You can buy it over the counter in your local grocery or drugstore at a very affordable price. I paid $6 for 120 tablets. The only side effect I get from it is very vivid dreams, but I did get an upset stomach when I first started taking it, but I drank a glass of milk w/ it and since then, that has subsided. Also, melatonin may effect changes in blood vessels that may affect blood flow, so if you have problems w/ that, contact your doctor. It will make you feel sleepy, so don't operate heavy machinery, drive a car, etc. Be sure to check out the link below to become more educated on melatonin and see if it's right for you because it has helped me out tremendously; even in my everyday life.

I intentionally stay up later than normal pulling my gear together and prepping everything.  I like to sleep until the last minute, jump in the truck and GO.  Having to think about anything before my first coffee and launching the boat could be hazzardous :)  I tend to get to the boat ramp way to early most of the time   ::)

I have no problem sleeping. I try to get my plan together a day or so beforehand just so I'm not stressed out and anxious right before a tournament.

There have been times that I've not got much sleep the night before but it's because I didnt have all my ducks in a row like I should have.

yeah he sleeps well.....and over sleeps often!  ;D
