tnbassfisher Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Any of this going to be shown on ESPN 2 or VS? Quote
bocabasser Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 go to espn.com click on more sports then click bassmasters. jt kenney is still leading with 15-13. sencond place is 15-6, but the guy caught a 10-3 pounder. russ lane is 3rd and bobby lane is 5th. all of the guys the gave interviews said they caught their fish flipping. it is amazing that for 2 straight months i was busting 20+ pounds every tourny i fished out there. just goes to show that when a cold front come through florida, fishing shuts down. i looke for one of the lane bros to win. hopefully Quote

chobeegators Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Man did you see that hog that Fox caught?!! :-X I wish I could go down and see the weigh ins but I have to work. It's only like 5 mins away from work but I get to see all the boats heading back into town for the night. I've had some guys come in to get something to eat when they were finished. Quote
bmadd Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 What I found most interesting is the vast amount of FLW pros that are fishing this tournament. More than in the past. I think the FLW may be in tough times. Also, I saw that Pam Martin-Wells is fishing this event. Quote

hotsauce18433 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 There is a nice picture of my buddy Michael Bennett's biggest from day one on his facebook page "Michael Bennett Fishing". Weather is warming up today so hopefully the action picks up. Quote
Jepu Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Last year you could watch the weigh-ins live as they were happening. I dont see that option on Bassmaster.com this year. Thats too bad. I enjoyed watching the opens weigh ins. You can still watch the live weigh-ins for the FLW(Strens,Series, and tour) Quote

Korea_Bassin Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Wow! 33 fishermen caught nada over two days. The one I like though is that James R. Anderson II caught only one fish over the first two days...but it weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. which put him in 54th place with one fish..ahead of a lot of other people with as many as seven fish!!! Quote
bmadd Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 The Lane brothers seem to be taking this one. Scroggins is hanging with them though. Quote
etommy28 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I fished as a coangler(and finished 23rd) I was very hard fishing. The fish we hard to make bite even when they would chase a bait they would not always eat it. also the weather was different each day, Tharp destroyed his trolling motor today and miss a half a day of fishing. bocabasser Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 right on lane bros!!! from the photos, it looked like chris was in the monkey box. Quote
etommy28 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 chris was in the same area as me yesterday, in the monkey box near morehaven canal, today I did not see him but im sure he was in it some where but further south. he ran past us on the way back. Quote
Flips Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Great job Tommy! Who did you get to fish with? I didn't fare as well as you but I did manage to flip one fish in for 70th... I lost a real nice one under the mats that should've helped a lot! Oh well. My buddy fished with Chris today and they started in a pond that was very difficult to get to... He said it was loaded with huge females that were roaming in packs! He had the bites to win the tournament but he just didn't get them in the boat... However, Chris lost an eight pounder but still held on for the win! Quote
etommy28 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 my day one boater zeroed both day, I lost a 2 and 4 pounder that day in the grass. day 2 my boater ended up 123rd. I has 8 pounds on 2 fish that day, and lost another 3 pounder cause my rod snapped on hook set. on day 3 I fished with david kilgore, he lost one 5-7 pounds in a mat. I did not get bit on day 3 so it was a little disappointing but it is what it is. it was a a lot of fun and I cant wait for smith lake, but just like every one else said, it was all about what I lost. but I cant complain I got a good check alot of points and had fun. I wouldn't draw too much from this though because many of the FLW guys are going to be fishing the FLW series tournament at the same place in two weeks. A few I know saw this as one big pre-fish opportunity for that tournament in addition to the Open being be a good season-starter Quote
