I might head up to hemphill to watch the p.a.a. tourny,has anyone been to one?? If so what to expect??

Yes, and according to Catt this morning, we have two of them parked our(Catt's) spots. Might need to go out and park just close enough to give them a little shove. Elias is on one and Zell is fishing another.

I'm going to talk to Catt and see if we can spray paint that bouy. It's getting way too much attention. Or maybe we can go out in the night and just tow it out to the middle of the lake, or throw in in the back of someone's pickup.

Catt and I sat off a boatlane one day and lost count of the pros that zipped by during one of the Stren events.

   We had picked a mid week day to come out and have that big pond mostly to our selves, Wed. I believe.

      After Catt recognized a couple of the boats, we knew what was up.    

        LOL,  a few even stopped to check out Catt's bent rod pattern.

I think Harrold Allen took 2nd overall, was taking some 26 lb stringers to make a check the final day.

       Stren had full field, and the Big Bass Splash kicked off Friday, so you had a butt load of boats on the Big Pond fishing for big money and the Pond kicked some toads out with all that pressure all week.

How much did our first real cold front effecting the fishing. Been North wind the past few days and we dipped into the low 50's.

Still no results posted but Pat said Rick Morris vaulted from 18th place with a 25+ sack which included a 10+ kicked for the win.

Catt,

    I read Rick's post report and game plan.   He got an extra week of practice in.   Just needed to catch fish for 2 days to maintain a top 40 standing in points to qualify for Conroe Classic.    Rick punched grass with 1 oz weight and brushhog for 2 days, then.

   Once he did that, he said swing for the fences on some deep water he found in practice with a 3/4 oz jig.   He said he knew at 10 oclock, that he was gonna shake the leader board.

  Fish must really be on the move, lots of locals who I'd put money on.

According to Pat the wind rocked them the first two days out on the main lake but for the final the main lake was money.

I also found it strange that Paul Elias & Skeet Reese were there for well over a week and neither fished it.

Tommy Martin was in position to make a move on the final day but bombed; Stephen Johnson has been on a tear this year on T-Bend and Rayburn but bombed as well.

I worked as an Observer for the 3 days, Thursday and Friday where there were 111 boats, then narrowed down to the Top 36 for Saturday. Skeet Reese was a no show for this event, but Paul Elias was there. 1st day had low weights, 2nd day bags grew and positions changed, to get the Top 36 Saturday to fish and 20 degrees cooler.
