ptomacbass Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 how do you guys like the strike king sexy spoon. i've found some good winter cover(an old table under a bridge.) when witer comes i'm thinking of deadsticking and jigging the spoon from on the bridge. if it's deep enough the bass might hang out there. Super User J Francho Posted September 12, 2008 Super User Posted September 12, 2008 Not sure that dead sticking is going to be the best tactic. My experience with spooning for bass is that they take it on the drop. In fact, most of the time, I don't even notice the fish until the next lift. This is why the strong, fast strokes work well with spoons. Quote
ptomacbass Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 i read something by denny brauer that said suspending a spoon where fish are and deadsticking it is one of the best ways to fish a spoon in the winter Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 Go for it. A lot of people deadstick spoons of various sizes through the ice. Tipping them with waxies, minnow heads, or Gulp can be very productive. Quote
