Well, for those of you who think the Pro's catch 'em all the time, everywhere they go, look at the standings and weights, day by day on this tournament.

Very low amount of limits and KVD blanked today.  :o

You know its got to be tough fishing there with as many guys that were skunked on the first day. The weights are terrible too. Those fish must have lockjaw

I agree Burley but it's nice to see them have to scramble to put together even a light bag. They've been hitting all the lakes on the schedule at the right time and just hammering fish previous to this one. This one's a true reality check and a rookie is winning it.

The weather has been crap here and even though I did not get to go it seems as though the muddy water still produced some decent bags for the river.  It was alot better than when the Classic was in Pennsylvania a few years ago but still seemed to be a tough bite.  Shallow muddy water is not everyones cup of tea either.

I would much rather see a tourney like this than 120 pounds on Falcon. Much more realistic to local bodies of water in my opinion.

If you are a realist, then let us limit the boats to the average boat most bass fisherman have, with only 3 or 4 rods on board, and low tech or no electronics!  Come on man, who the heck wants to watch people ZERO in a televised Tournament, we want to see them hit home runs and keep us dreaming about fishing those bodies of waters.   ;)

To be honest with you, I would much rather see them hit homers on the typical bodies of water that the rest of us fish. Those huge weights looks great for people that aren't as big into fishing or put the pros on a pedastool but as a tournament angler I love to see them fish places that aren't loaded with big fish. Its makes it seem much more real to me and I'm alot prouder of the guys that dominate. I'm not saying that they aren't already great cause they are the best but it just shows more when they catch a 20+ stringer on a lake where 17 normally wins. but thats just my opinion  ;)

Just echoing what many have already said...I'd take a tourney like this over a slugfest on the elites any day. In my club, if you average a 10lb limit throughout the entire season, you're running away with AOTY. Love the tough ones..

Man, I would find somewhere else to fish.

Fishing on the river is tough and most anglers that fish lakes are really going to struggle.  I'm just North of of Ft.madison a few hours and here on the pool the fishing is great.  Usually takes a solid 3lb average to win a tournament and this spring is took a 4lb average just to get in the top 5.  With 22lbs winning it with a 5fish limit for 1 day of fishing.  The problem was the area.  Not near enough spots for 100 anglers to fish.  They were pressured really heavily.

I know it won't happen, but I would love to see them move the classic back to late summer or early fall.  It stinks that the only place they can have it is in the South.  I thought the classic in Pittsburgh was great, so what if they did not have huge bags of fish.
