fishincop640 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Well, just found out today from another person that my club partner, whom i've fished with for the past two years, agreed to fish with someone else and has yet to tell me. Anyone ever have this happen? What is the main reason? We would use his Nitro on the bigger unlimited hp lakes and use my 17ft procraft on the limited hp and electric only lakes. I would pay his entrance fee and give him at least $25 gas money for the tournaments when he would drive. I used my boat for probably 8 tournaments the past 2 years and he didn't even buy me a soda let alone an entrance fee. My previous partners and I would split the winnings 50/50. This partner told me 2 years ago that he didn't want to do that. Since then I've won three tournaments and placed 2nd place in 3 others. I would start catching fish and he would block me out by pointing the front of the boat toward the shore and always get the first cast into EVERY spot. Sorry guys and gals......just wanted to vent a little. Quote
CODbasser Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 sounds like your better off with out him...you have a boat...if you cant find a partner fish by yourself...that way you dont have to worry about someone else ruining your day... Quote
fishincop640 Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Thanks J, I understand what you are saying.....just kinda makes you feel worthless when you are dumped like that. I guess it would be cool if I won a couple tournaments. His new partner only actually finished 4 tournaments last year. He was always the first boat in to the launch at least an hour before tournament end or left a note with the tournament director saying he had to go home for one reason or another. Quote
ProCrafter Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Yup, sounds like he is jealous of being outdone by a partner and found a new Pidgeon! might be worth a warning to the new guy!.....if anything just for yuks! Quote
fishincop640 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Well I would give the new guy a warning but he would tell my old partner right in front of me that my partner should leave me and start fishing with him. The new guy said he could outfish me anyday although he never weighed in a single fish during the tournaments. Oh well, I will fish by myself and hopefully out do them at least once..... guess we will see what happens!!! Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 I wouldn't have dealt with that crap for a minute. You're better off without him. Now go beat up on him in the next T. Quote
fishincop640 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 The kicker in the whole deal is that I could have had someone join up to fish with me but the cut off date is 2nd saturday in April......he didn't even have guts to tell me before that!! Oh well......Ill just be asking you all some tips and tactics prior to the tournaments!!! Quote
dmac14 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Just shove it in his face professionally, out fish him and just try harder. If someone were to do something like that to me I would just want to fish harder just to show him up. But don't be the bad guy and become cocky, just walk softly and carry a big fish Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 I wouldn't have dealt with that crap for a minute. You're better off without him. Geez...Two years? > Quote
sodaksker Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 It looks like he did you a favor. It also sound like he and his new partner were meant for each other. Keep fishing and be happy that they are donating to pot. Forget them and move on. Life is too short to waste energy on folks like that. I think I am out of cliches...oh, now go fish. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 You sound like you're heart broken . The A** HOLE didyou a favor ! Quote
Bass Hole Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Just fish alone...there is nothing better in a tournament...no worring if your back boating the other guy and you get all your water to your self..no hearing the other guys complaining all day and now you can pay your own entry fees and if you win you get to keep all the prize...Think lone wolf....lol Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I wouldn't have dealt with that crap for a minute. You're better off without him. Geez...Two years? > X2, I couldn't have handled that kind of BS for two months let alone two years! Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 The best revenge is success and living well. You're better off without him and deep down you know it. But it's like any relationship professional or personal when there's no closure you kinda feel cheated outta your say. All I can say is hope you find a better partner and you smoke him in the next tournaments. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted May 3, 2009 Super User Posted May 3, 2009 That guy is no partner. He's a user. Better off without him. Find someone else, I can't believe you put up with it this long with that jerk. Quote
fishincop640 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Maybe I can just get myself one of those "Ultimate Net Men" Oh yeah, that's another thing......If I hooked a fish he wouldn't even get out of his seat to net the fish for me. If I wanted the fish netted I had to work the fish around to him.........Guess you are all right that I am better off. Just hope I can catch a couple to just prove that he didn't "put me on the fish" like he had said so many times......... Stand by for any updates....first tournament is June 20 or 27 I believe! Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 9, 2009 Super User Posted May 9, 2009 Sounds like you are better off without him. Get a new partner who will work with you and that you enjoy being with. Quote
