BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 24, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 24, 2009 Here's an exclusive interview with Mike Iaconelli taken moments before the final weigh-in at the 2009 Bassmaster's Classic. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/iaconelli.html Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Excellent!! I like Iaconelli's attitude this year. I wish he would have pulled it off, I guess Skeet was due. Thanks for the great video Glenn. Quote
bassmaster3000 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 That is sweet!!! So does Ike post on BR? if so, I wonder what his username is? ;D ;D Quote
bladeslinger Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Wow, great interview. Seems to put Mike in a different light compared to much of the ESPN coverage. I was happy to see Skeet win the BMC but am now rooting for Mike to take Angler of the Year. Quote
Mike D from Lunkerville Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 spectacular!... a terrific interview... ike is very articulate and it's great to see this side of him nicely done! Quote
Bubba_Bruiser Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Awesome interview. I think people put Ike down a lot by his antics, but he is just being himself. He does what people think is weird or unsportsman like in some views. But come on, who doesn't want to scream when they are on the verge of that big payday. Emotional man to say the least. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 That was a great interview. I know that some people might not like how he goes crazy but I will say that although I am pretty reserve and maintain my composure when I catch a good sized fish, you can bet that inside I am "Ianconelli'ing it" (as I have dubbed it) inside all the way to the bank. I do fist pump too. This is one of the best classics I have ever seen, and it was exciting for me because I am a fan of both Skeet and Ike. Fo Sho!!!!! Hats off to both. 8-) Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 WOW! That is something special. Great job! 8-) Quote
Super User Muddy Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 I do not like pro fishing I do like Iconelli though. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Great interview! Good stuff right there. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Excellent interview with one of our industry's outstanding ambassadors. Thanks for posting, Glenn. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 In response to the query if Ike posts on this site and if so, what is his handle, it Burley some days and Muddy on others. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 In response to the query if Ike posts on this site and if so, what is his handle, it Burley some days and Muddy on others. :D I have always wondered how many, if any, top name pros use this site and don't use their real names.Thats the beauty of the online world you never know whos sitting at the keyboard BTW excellent video! 8-) Quote
Culln5 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Thanks for the great interview! You can see Ike's communications degree shining! Quote
Willzx225 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 How 'bout Ike showing BR a lot of love! That is an awesome interview and I like the new Ike more than the old Ike. It seems as if he has found the perfect balance (for him) between "Space Monkey" (As Zona calls him) and normality. Congrats on a great tournament. I have a feeling Classic victory number two is just around the corner. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Great interview and great post! Thanks! Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Class act, great interview guys:) Quote
Bass Dude Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I'm always amazed that people are surprised to see him be "normal". I've had the honor to listen to his presentation when they used to do the Bassmaster Universities. He was THE best presenter (FYI--KVD was at this one too), he was a wealth of information and knows how to speak to an audience. I've also had the honor to meet him each year when the Elites have visited Oneida. He is a class act and has never been anything less than professional and cordial. And...He knows how to find 'em on Oneida too. He brought in a 20lbs bag in '08. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 Great interview. So now we have Ike's pattern for the Classic. Cool! He communicates very well which, as some have already stated, makes him a good teacher in his seminars. Quote
arul Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Great Fisherman! Great Interview! Great Person! I love IKE! Quote
NOVA Angler Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Great interview! I noticed Ike said he has been associated with BR for his entire career. Did he ever post on the boards? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 We will not get into an Ike bashing contest on this thread. If you don't know him personally you can't begin to understand him or his personality. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 He wrote several articles for us back in his Federation days. Quote
