BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 13, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 13, 2009 As many of you remember last year he and I had a chance to ride along with one of the Pros on the final day of practice for the Bassmaster Classic. This year I will be riding with Mike Iaconelli. I would like to know what questions you want me to ask him.
BASS fisherman Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 On his website he is selling some products that in the pics have his autograph. Do they come with his autograph if purchased? And is it really his autograph and not an iron on? What does he rely on that helps him stay focused under pressure after he has had a bad tounament, or day? Does he believe BASS having removed the co-anglers is an advantage or a disadvantage and why? In what ways has winning the 2003 Classic changed his life for the better? How about for the worse?
Willzx225 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 How does Ike go about breaking down a lake that they have no experience on in 2 1/2 days? Does he focus on one major tributary or try to see the whole lake? If he practices in a certain creek, does he disect the whole creek or just enough to get a feel for it before moving on and then dig deeper during the tournament?
fishizzle Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 To me, he is an idol because he is a city slicker. Just like Snoop Dogg he had dreams of getting out of the Hood someday. He is an inspiration because he still gets excited, calling a 2lb bass huge even in the South. I'd like to know how much of his drama is real. Is he bipolar? Dr Jeckel? Has any Dr. ever prescribed Prozac. Like when he kicked over the Flag on his boat that almost ended his career, he seemed to do it without realizing the consequences. He really just snapped! Where will he be in 20 years? Do women chase him for his money and fame like a rock star? If he were to start over in life what would he change? Does he like how the media views him as Americas most Hated Fisherman? i.e. Does he do it on purpose for the media? Why hasn't he jumped on the bandwagon as a rod, reel and lure designer? Does he wish he could take a year off to relax?

Super User roadwarrior Posted February 13, 2009 Super User Posted February 13, 2009 Two: 1. What is your opinion on line visibility for largemouth bass? 2. Is line diameter important when fishing finesse techniques for smallmouth?
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 13, 2009 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 13, 2009 I can answer few here: On his website he is selling some products that in the pics have his autograph. Do they come with his autograph if purchased? And is it really his autograph and not an iron on? Yes, they do have his autograph, and yes, it's real. Why hasn't he jumped on the bandwagon as a rod, reel and lure designer? There's an Iaconelli signature line of rods out by Diawa. http://www.daiwa.com/Rod/detail.aspx?ID=453 Good questions. Keep them coming!
Super User J Francho Posted February 13, 2009 Super User Posted February 13, 2009 What was your biggest mistake as a pro fisherman? Did you have, and if so, what was the defining moment that you decided to be a pro fisherman? What has been your greatest accomplishment as a pro fisherman? Why didn't you use a steel leader when fishing for blues on that episode of City Limits? Do you want to go fishing with me, right now?
farmpond1 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Under what, if any, conditions would you fish a deer hair jig over a rubber skirted jig? Have you ever won or placed high in a tournament where you didn't feel on the top of your game? What is your least favorite (regardless of effectiveness) fishing technique? Your most favorite?
Rich Tehan Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Ask him if he'll do an episode of city limits fishing SYRACUSE with me on Onondaga Lake. Just kidding..... but really tho??????
fishizzle Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 yeah what about the CT River in Hartford? With me and Tokyo Tony

Have you ever won or placed high in a tournament where you didn't feel on the top of your game? What is your least favorite (regardless of effectiveness) fishing technique? Your most favorite? I really like the one I highlighted! How about: On occasion I find that I do better in a tournament when I fish more for fun than to win. Has this occurance ever happened with him? And why do you think this happens?
fishizzle Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 What fishing techniques does he feel he invented, modified or improved that no one else knew about before?
cwen Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Mike, Why are you doing City Limits? Runamede, Nj is as rural as rural gets in NJ.
K.Fox Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Mike, Why are you doing City Limits? Runamede, Nj is as rural as rural gets in NJ His younger years he lived in Philly... How does he or did he feel about competing against women in the classic? (Kim Bain) How does he feel about the future of women in the sport?
Super User .ghoti. Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 Ask him why he is "trying" to cultivate on his chin what grows wild in his arse. Use my name, of course.
paangler3117 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I have two: What two peices of structure should all fisherman be able to identify and fish? If he could only catch smallmouth or largemouth for the rest of his life, which one would it be? thanks, Jim
bass wrangler569 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Ask him why he is "trying" to cultivate on his chin what grows wild in his arse. Use my name, of course. X2 The only question I woud ask him is if he needs to borrow a rasor. It looks like hes doing Locks-for-Love with his face lol
Scorcher214 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Why is he a hated fisherman? i didnt know if there could somthing as a mean bass fisherman.
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 20, 2009 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 20, 2009 I went out with him Wednesday and posed as many questions here as I could. Sorry I didn't get the last few, but we had already come off the water by then. As far as being "hated" is concerned, that's VERY old news! He's grown up alot in recent years. Given the throng of fans asking for his picture and autograph at the launch site, it's clear most people have changed their opinion of him. Those that haven't, never will.
Culln5 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 - Where does the Fox Studios movie that we heard about in 2006 stand? - Do you support or sponsor any products, companies, services, or causes for free? - Do you ever get to enjoy fishing as if you were a 12 year old boy again?
