I believe that someone (Johnny Morris BPS) or something (PAA) will soon own BASS. I could be totally off base, but things are not looking good. To put a major Elite tournament on top of the FLW championship shows me that someone at BASS is out of touch.

how about an elite 50 after everyone goes home because the payouts are so bad?

I have heard that ESPN has been shopping BASS around for a while now.  I would be thrilled to see it sold to someone like Johnny Morris, but I would rather see it bought by the PAA.  It could then be operated in the best interests of the fishermen rather than the stockholders.

I thought the Johnny Morris buying BASS was a rumor. That has been out there for a while now, if my memory serves me right.

The only thing I'd worry about with Johnny Morris taking over BASS would be that he would make it into a BPS tourney trail where you would only get incentives if you used BPS products or run a Nitro.  Kind of like FLW with Ranger!  Again, still making it hard for anglers to make a living or gain other sponsorships.

The only part of BASS that ESPN cares about is the Elite Series and $$ signs now.  After all ESPN is a media company and the elites are on TV every week.  They are destroying BASS and what it stands for.  Just look at what they are doing with the youth programs, federation nation, elites by removing the co-anglers, ect.  Now, Don Corkran is not returning as the director of BASS Federation Nation.  There will be a guy from ESPN as acting director.  The future isn't looking good.  If someone is going to buy BASS from ESPN they need to in a hurry before they destroy it to the point that everyone is gone except the elites.  If Johnny Morris buys BASS I think it would be a good move for the future of BASS.  He would take care of the fishermen from the youth to the elites.  One thing to keep in mind is that the pros don't pay for all there tackle.  The youth, weekend angler, and lower level tournament anglers are the ones buying the products.

Just my .02 cents!!!!

Tin

That is a good question!!!!

He must not dislike the baits because he copied about everyone RI has came out with.  I can see it now tournaments that can only be fished with BPS baits. ;D
