BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 18, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 18, 2008 Keri, my wife, is fishing the WBT event on Clarks Hill this week. It's extremely tough fishing right now, but she managed to catch a keeper to take 50th place. This is her first WBT event ever, and she's a boater. Here's the day 1 results Quote
Super User 5bass Posted September 19, 2008 Super User Posted September 19, 2008 Way to represent Keri! Nice outfit! I predict you'll have a great day tomorrow! I'm seeing a 12 pound+ bag and a jump into the Top 10! Good luck! Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 20, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 20, 2008 Thanks for the support guys! It's really appreciated. Day 2 turned out to be tougher than day 1. The winds picked up and the bite dropped off. Unfortunately, that meant a lot of people blanked, and Keri was one of them. She ended up 61st out of 74 boaters. But hey, at least that's not last eh? First time out of the starting gate, so now we have a benchmark. Keri and I had a blast and learned A LOT. Things can only get better from here! Many thanks to Dan G. for lending us his Ranger Z520 for the event. Some of you may recall meeting Dan at the Guntersville event. Awesome guy! I also want to thank JJ & Karl of JJ's Magic, and Rob Faddis of KVD Line & Lure for coming out to root for Keri at the weigh-in. Thanks guys!! (sidenote: I fished 7 days and boated only 5 fish total - and that included a trip to the notorious Lake Varner! Got to meet Adam (Doghouse) and Randall - Great guys!) Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 My guess is Keri was out of her element, not being a partners tournament and having to carry Glenn probably threw off her game a bit,....she'll adjust ;D Sounds like a great trip and a great learning experience! Glad you guys had a good time, safe travels back Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 20, 2008 Super User Posted September 20, 2008 Great news. Good looking shirt, too. Thanks for telling us. Keep us up to date on her tournaments. Quote
Mrs. Matstone Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 That is great news and it sounds like she did well even in some tough conditions. I suspect it will only get better from here. Congrats to her and thanks for sharing. ;D Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 20, 2008 Super User Posted September 20, 2008 Congrats! No matter where you finish the point is you Started and you will remember this one as well as the first one you win! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Keri Posted September 22, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 22, 2008 Thank you all for the support. The event was a great experience and I hope to do it again next year. I have to thank Dan for the boat, JJ's Magic, Ol-Nelly Lures and BTS, KVD Line and Lure for there help during this event. I'm sure I'm missing a few people and I'm sorry about that, I'll blame it on jet lag. Again thanks to all. Keri Quote
