I along with a couple hundred tournament guys are pretty upset. The Bluegrass Brawl and LBL BFL events are overlapped. The 3rd day of the Elite series and the BFL event will be fishing on the same day. This is a bad call on FLW's behalf. They should have moved us back or up a week. It's cheating everybody.

For one, many anglers in general have been reported to be following some of the Elite members and GPSing their holes. >:( It's just cheat shots who can't find their own fish. Then the Elite guys don't go out until 8:00am, the BFL will blast off at 6:00, most likely. How many Elite guys are going to get screwed here?

I have only been out once this week and that was yesturday evening because I understood the Elite would have to come off the water for a meeting. I didn't want to see them and I didn't want them to see me.

Still though Ky. Lake is getting pounded to death. I just hope I got a spot left with some fish on it. :-/

Sorry for your luck dude...But that's situation normal for us here in Central Fla.   There are 5-10 tourneys on the Kissimmee chain EVERY weekend.  We fish the most beat up water you can imagine.  Don't be scared off your spots, just fish them better than the other guys....they might catch the easy ones, but will leave the bigger, less aggressive ones for you.

I'm not scared, I just don't want to do that to one of the Elite guys. They're fishing for some big money but I still have a job to do. What's really gripping me is some of my competition is "hole stealing" and all of us locals will get the blame. I'm going out tomorrow to see if any of the Elite is fishing my spots that are holding fish or was anyway. I hope they have overlooked them but, they are the best anglers in the world.

The Elite boys said they are shooting to get all their weight in the boat Thursday and Friday.  Why are they launching at 8?  That seems ridiculous.

you have to read the ridiculous article on espn that is called "gps pirates."

i posted a comment in response:

what this article gives a slight headnod to is the reality that the gate swings both ways. however the article doesnt go far enough, and is out of balance. pros often underestimate local knowledge and therefore assume that locals "stumble" into their super secret spots. i know first hand of a pig-headed comment from a pro from the elite series toho tournament last year. my friend was in "housboat cove" pre-fishing for a local tournament, saw the pro and backed out out of deference, and the pro was quoted as saying the local "stumbled" on the area. decidedly not the case.

in fact, last weeks comments from jeremy starks about the local who was fishing his area strike me as condescending and disingenuous. i dont doubt that these pros are being "bent rod pattern(ed)", but not any more than many of these pros fish a bent rod pattern through local information and fisherman. there are some fools out there running around scalping off of the "pros," but this gate swings both ways.
