Catt i too understand your sarcasm and agree...........BassPro i also understand you are taking a stand for what you too believe in and that is Anglers we have all grown up learning from or admired as fisherman or people in this Industry and you are defending their honor, i Admire that as well. Especially at your age... Always stand up for what you believe in. With that said, Catt was using Wit/Sarcasm to make a point and us "older folks" learn to speak that language because well.. we are good at it.....anyway we all love this sport and the legends that fish it and i think from an Old Time Angler to a Up and Coming Rookie angler this is water under the bridge.....change your lure and shake hands... I look forward to reading Catts no less than impressive fishing stories i hear about and BassPro your insight as well............Fish on!!

P.S I am a newbie here and not trying to get in your business... just showing some luv ;)

There are no hard feelings on my behalf; I raised 6 kids and taught all of them to stand their ground if it's something them believe in. Another thing I love about this site is our youngsters; we have quite a few with backbones & intestinal fortitude.

Lady I will never look at it as getting into my business; this site is every members business  ;)

Meet both for the first time on 01/31/1970 at the TOLEDO BEND INVITATIONAL where a friend of my dad's Mike Bono beat Roland Martin for first place.

Were you holding spots for Mike? 8-)

Mr. Bono forgot more about that lake than I know  ;)

@ catt, i agree with what you said

i dont mind that they switch boat sponsors, i always thought that it was lame how they made the pros fish out of the "official sponsor" of BASS, instead of their own boats.  I mean, theyre sponsored by boat companies, and when they're getting air time is when they're promotin the product.  id imagine that most sponsors would be upset that the pros werent using the boats that they provided them.

personally, i run a stratos ;D, and im fairly suprised that there aren't many pros who run'em.  the most notable in my mind is larry nixon, but he fishes the flw.  can anyone think of a b.a.s.s. pro running a stratos?

Hmmm. None off the top of my head.

I went through a list of about 200 pros and I couldn't find anyone running a Stratos besides Larry.

Kind of interesting because they are decent boats and they are a Genmar brand.

i know, ive never had a problem with mine (although its only been a year now) and she runs great.  i put her through her paces thursday-saturday down on lake dardanelle in about 3-4 waves.  she took it alright.  the design is solid, and i have friends who run model years ranging from 1985 up to 2005.  they love'em!  if i recall correctly they were originally designed by earl bentz who then sold it to OMC (i think i actually read that on this forum).

Mr. Alan Stinson. A veteran many times over, Alan was not only the founder of Nitro Boats, which he sold off to Bass Pro Shops, but he was the designer of the well known Skeeter Starfire, and the world record holding Stratos 201 hulls. He has designed every hull Javelin Boats currently have in their production line up. These are the same hulls they have been running under Javelins for some time now. He also designed the proven 19, 20, and 21 foot Stratos SS hulls fully tested, tried and scheduled for production on Monday 4/16/01. Alan Stinson has designed every hull that Larry Nixon has fished from since 1976! Mr. Stinson now designs for Stratos

If I am recalling correctly, when Genmar purchased Stratos they disolved all but Larry Nixon's contracts.  Lee Bailey used to run a Stratos as well but currently runs a Legend ( I believe).

Not to get this fire stoked up again but I am sure BASS and Skeeter have teamed up for more than "some stupid reason."  I actually was offended by that because I run a Skeeter and I am a very proud owner of it.  I will own Skeeter boats for as long as I am fishing.

I'm surprised that there are not more Stratos boats run by pros as well.  That is probably the majority boat brand in the bass club I belong to.  We have 2 Tritons, 2 Rangers & 4 Stratos...among some other brands...a Skeeter, 2 Bass Cats, etc.  We did have 5 Stratos but one guy switched to a Ranger Z Comanche...........

I have a feeling that Stratos has shifted it's line towards more entry level type boats with less of a connection to tournament fishermen than they've had in the past.
