crewman 1 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I have just joined a bass club and the first tournament is this coming weekend. I have fished in only one tourny before and it was in my own boat on a local lake i have alot of experiance on. This is going to be alot different. I have never been to this place and am going to be a coangler. The weather here was warm this weekend but it is droping as we speak. Expected temp for Sat. is low of 23 and high of 36. Partly cloudy. If ya'll got any advice it would be greatly appreciated. I live in west tn. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 4, 2008 Super User Posted March 4, 2008 Can't give you much advice with the info you threw out there except to dress warm and fish slow. Quote
CJ Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 First off...Welcome to the forums! So, what lake you fishing? CJ Quote
GobbleDog Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 One good thing about joining a club is it forces you out of your element and into lakes that you'd normally never fish. Sounds like it's going to be freezing cold out there. With the wind on the lake I bet it'll feel even colder. I always say it's better to bring too many clothes than not enough. As for the fishing, my advice is stick with what you know and fish areas that you normally fish. Don't waste a lot of time trying new baits or working unfamiliar cover. That's what practice is for. Good luck and report back after the tourney. Quote
jaskoh Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Crewman, I am fishing my first club tournament of the year this weekend and I am in the same boat as you. I have never fished with this boater. Im guessing our water temps will be 42 deg if we are lucky. The only thing I can recommend to you is to concentrate on your presentation and pray that your boater puts you on fish. Other than that there is nothing you can do. Goodluck! Quote
crewman 1 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 We are fishing the watersheed lakes in lexington. Beech, pine, dogwood, etc.. I expect the water temp to be around 45 or so beings we had them couple of warm days. Maybe i will luck up and draw a good boater that will put me on fish. Rather be lucky than good any day. lol Quote
