Cigarlover 1 Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Reported as the worst classic weather day ever. Remember that Classics were in different seasons in the past. Ever? I was watching the classic yearbook on the 76 classic I think it was on the VA coast. 50 mph winds. Is today worse than that? Just curious. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Dude that's perfect fishing weather; a minor front today followed by: Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. West wind between 5 and 14 mph. Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind between 5 and 8 mph becoming calm. Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 59. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 I fished in Rita and those winds, you can hide from wind, but you can't hide from cold. You can get under bridges if they are there to get out of sleet and rain, but cold fingers makes miserable fishing unless your catching often to take your mind off it. And yes, I'd gladly trade spots with any one of them. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Low pressure triggers activity & cloudy conditions give the bass an advantage over their prey. As proof of that, Bobby Lane had a five-bass limit in his boat in the first 45 minutes. Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Reported that a wide range of baits is working. Which just re-iterates what Catt said about the low pressure and the fish are turned on, and add some wind. They said a spoon was being used but no names tied to any baits, I'm betting one of my picks is using that spoon. Kelly Jordan popped into the top 10. Where Tak? my other pick? Quote

Well, I've got to go now, I'm going to the Toyota dealership to get a truck big enough to haul my new Yamaha powered BasCat, and then stop by Dick's Sporting Goods to stock it with some berkely plastics and diawa reels. I got to meet him out here at the California Delta last year and he truly is a class act. He does way more for the sport than a lot of the guys who have been fishing a lot longer. When it comes to Ike I say let the past go and recognize the talent. Quote

Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Also remember how amazingly accurate these non-boaters are. Last year day 2 Biffle was in the led by these guesses by 3 pounds, in reality he was in 9th 6 pounds back. Quote
