Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Wow, some surprises already and it is only 2 hours in, lots of fish are being caught too. Cliff Pace and Bobby Lane have their limitsfor 16 pounds, Alton Jones and Swindle have theirs too. Just remember, the guys who have led the Classic after the first day usually go on to win. Duckett in 07, Clausen in 06, Omori in 04..... Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Definately some surprises Tin. Looks like according to the info on the bassmasters update page that the lower lake is where most of the action is at and upper is kinda slow: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/classic/news/story?page=b-tourn-bass-blog-day-one I watched the launch live online from this site this morning, kinda cool. Just wish Mike and Mike knew something about bass fishing and we could be getting live updates on tv. I can't wait to watch day one and two tommorrow morning here at my dad's place. Interesting strategy with Chris Lake following up Bobby Lane's pattern and fishing the same spot after he left (caught his limit) and moved on to a new spot. I'm sure these two were talking before the tourney and traded some info. Be cool to see two brothers go one two. I think someone on the prediction thread picked that to happen haha. I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby do well. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Just remember how bad those Lanes are at keeping leads. Champlain in 06 and Clarks Hill in 07. : O no, KVD has 3 fish for over 10 pounds and one is over 6 pounds, they are all in trouble now. Sexy Shad must be getting it done. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks for posting the link too, I had it copied but forgot to paste. It's all over, KVD has only 4 fish and has 15 pounds. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 KVD fishing strong! Pig! And Scroggins must of found his traditional deep water bite like last year's brawl at SML. These two have obviously found their fish and moved up quickly. I'm hoping the camera men and guys on Duckett's, Horton's and Reese's boats are just dumb and haven't reported anything yet, how can the three of them not be on the board yet? I hate the suspense of not being able to watch this unfold. I CANNOT WAIT for video tommorrow. Horton, Omori, Ike, Evers... let's go baby, hop aboard! Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Martins from deep left with 17-19lbs!? Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 I hope he wins this one. He came from no where, tomorrow when the sun comes out I'm sure he will do good when the rest struggle in that clear cold water. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I hope he wins this one. He came from no where, tomorrow when the sun comes out I'm sure he will do good when the rest struggle in that clear cold water. X2 I'm pickin him to win the whole thing. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I agree if Aaron can fish these conditions today and sit atop the leader boards, once the post front conditions start up it's gonna be the Martens show, but KVD will be on his tail. Looks like Glenn called this one. But you guys are right, no one's talked about him all morning. DEEEEEP left field. What a race so far. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Don't forget about Scroggins either, the guys up in the creeks pitching might do some damage tomorrow too, like Biffle. He is due for a Classic win. Anyone see Kevin Short's pink Croix's and all pink Basscat? : Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 ESPN is toying with my emotions..........now martens is at 15.2!!! KVD all the way!!! Where is Ike? Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 The turn arounds just keep getting better. Here comes my boy Ike gainin' on the leaders! Direct from the Bassmaster site: All you Aaron Martens fans (count me as one of those) welcome to the world of techno glitchs. Martens three 4-pounders that came out of nowhere, weigh about as much as the electronic signal that was sent to record them. He's still at 15 pounds, 2 ounces. Forgive me for getting a little excited. Cliff Paces still reigns at the top of the leaderboard with 16 pounds, followed by Alton Jones with 15-6, Terry Scroggins with 15-3 and then Aaron. KVD and Rook are next in line, both still with four fish and in the 15-pound range. But the big change has come from Michael Iaconelli. He has four fish weighing about 13 pounds, 12 ounces and sits in 7th place. Hey Team, 7th baby! That's my boy. Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 nevermind I found him, got to excited and didnt read the whole thing...duh. ;D Quote
TruflShufl Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Don't forget about Scroggins either, the guys up in the creeks pitching might do some damage tomorrow too, like Biffle. He is due for a Classic win. Anyone see Kevin Short's pink Croix's and all pink Basscat? : Yeah. ;D At least it's unique I suppose... Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 ;D Unique to say the least...... Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 KVD boated his last keeper now sits at the top of the leaderboard with 17 pounds, 8 ounces. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Where did you guys see this? Do they have pics on the site yet? Are we gonna have a Martens/KVD battle? Quote
Bassnajr Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Where are you guys getting the info. from. a link please!!! alan Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I think the battle lines have been drawn Quote

Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Wow, KVD, Ike, Martens, and Scroggins. Pace and Lane have their work cut out for them. This is going to be a great Classic. Still no fish for Skeet and that's great imo. ;D Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Check out the Live Lake Cam on espn, it looks like nasty out there! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Reported as the worst classic weather day ever. Remember that Classics were in different seasons in the past. Quote
TruflShufl Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Check out the Live Lake Cam on espn, it looks like nasty out there! Better than the snow/ice we have here. Ahhh, this makes me wanna go fishing. > Quote
