There was a poll posted here a few weeks ago asking about FLW vs BASS etc. and that brought a few questions to mind that I'd like to ask.  I considered creating a separate poll, but the options are too varied so I'll just pose the question(s) and allow everyone to answer in  their own words.  Here it goes:

How closely do you follow the pro series (FLW/BASS/others?)?  Do you follow both or only one?

Do you have a favorite pro that you follow closely to see how they are doing and "root" for them, or do you just check the daily updates  to see how the leader is finding fish, what structure they are fishing, and how they are approaching the given waters with the current weather, etc.?  If you have a favorite, why are they your favorite...(you know them personally...you fish a similar style...they are from your area...etc.)

Include any other aspects of "following" a pro series that you feel pertinent.

I personally follow BASS Elites more. I think this probably due to the fact that there tv coverage was better when I first I got into tournament bass fishing. I do however follow the Flw series and tour some. My favorite pros are from BASS. I think its probably because with BASS I feel like between tv, the magazine and their website I actually know the guys personalities and I think thats cool. Its hard for me to pick an absolute favorite, because I like them all, but I'll go with to guys from up north, KVD and Ike.

I fish both FLW and BASS lower tournaments and enjoy them both and feel its probably easier to advance in FLW tournaments, but I just think BASS does better coverage.

i follow BASS Elite Series. I also follow Kevin VanDam because he is just an amazing fisherman i have alot of his videos. hes from michigan and so am I. so when i lived there it helped when he was fishing there and not talking the shad you have to look for. since we dont have shad in northern michigan. he would talk about bluegills and sunfish. so he helped alot. now that i live in a place that has shad he helps also because the guy can fish anywhere. i also like to see how he finds fish. just all around a good fisherman.

I follow BASS Elites more than FLW.  Mostly because of the TV coverage.  The goobers that host FLW make me puke plus there is a lot less fishing coverage and more crap that I care absolutely nothing about.  If I have an elite favorite it would have to be "Wolverine".

How closely do you follow the pro series (FLW/BASS/others?)? - Only follow B.A.S.S.  I have no idea who wins the FLW events.

Do you follow both or only one? - Only B.A.S.S.

Do you have a favorite pro that you follow closely to see how they are doing and "root" for them, or do you just check the daily updates  to see how the leader is finding fish, what structure they are fishing, and how they are approaching the given waters with the current weather, etc.? - No, but I do read in BASS Times and Bassmaster Magazine about them. I like Ike the best and follow his tournament results and Angler of the Year standings.

If you have a favorite, why are they your favorite...(you know them personally...you fish a similar style...they are from your area...etc.) - Heard and met him at Bassmaster University and another seminar and he is one of the nicesest people and greatest ambassador for bass fishing around. He is colorful and smart and an excellent fisherman.  His antics are enjoyable and he yells, just like me, when he nails a good one.  I mean he nails a good fish. And he is an excellent speaker and teacher.  A true pro and a very nice person

Any other questions?

That's a couple of good guys your knockin'.

I really don't know where you draw your opinion. Look how well ESPN is covering the classic. ;D

I watch both. I really don't have a favorite. I just like hearing the stories and watching the techniques and strategies.

Both organizations have their own ways. FLW has the money and BASS has the prestige.
