Bassnajr Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Does anyone have a link of Mike I going nuts when he found his fish hald dead during one of the classics? I'm reading about it, but can't find the video. Thanks, alan Quote
littlefisher Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I can't seem to find it anywhere either. It's not one of his better moments though for sure. It just shows how frustrated people can get when they make a small mistake that can cost them thousands of dollars. I still like Iaconelli and everything and everything he stands for. I saw him at Bassmaster University one year and he missed his lunch to personally talk to every person and sign every autograph. He even had some guy whining at him because he was going to miss his flight to go practice for the Classic. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted February 11, 2008 Super User Posted February 11, 2008 Go back a few years and look in this section. Plenty of IKE bashing threads years back on here. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted February 12, 2008 Super User Posted February 12, 2008 It wasn't much to watch really. He just beat up his light pole which happened to have our nations flag on it as I recall. I'm sure he learned a lesson out of it. Quote
Bassnajr Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 The fact that it's no where on the internet now is amazing....maybe there's a legal issue with the video now...hmmmmm???? ajr Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Alan, not the vid you were looking for...but still a great one! Quote

That was years ago - old news. Yaaaaawn! Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 13, 2008 Super User Posted February 13, 2008 You can probably find Gerald Swindle's DQ video easier from last year's Classic than the old "Ike Goes Nuts" video. Andyou have to hand it to Ike, for if that was me you would have heard every cuss word in the book. Quote
Holden Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 He is just passionate about the things that he loves. When you watch Football, or Hockey, What do most fans do after their team scores? They cheer right? It is because they are passionate. Many of you might not want to hear this but, It is the exact same way with Mike. I understand how one could find him annoying. If that is the case, just don't watch him. He is the one who inspired me to take fishing to the next level and he is doing the same with thousands of kids across the United States. I would also really like to point out that Mike is one of the leaders in contribution to the V Foundation which is a Cancer Research Program. He donates $2 for every pound of fish that he catches every season. He is also the founder of the Mike and Myositis Charity Fundraiser. Its also helps that he can fish! A Bassmaster Classic win in 2003 and an Angler of the Year Award in 2006. Most would have given up after Mike's 2006? Bassmaster Classic but he kept trooping. If anyone has any spare time, I would really recommend his book Fishing on the Edge. Quote

Bassnajr Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 I agree about "Ike"... Every sport needs its "bad boy" if you will. The guy who pushes the envelope. I think it's great that there are more guys who are interesting in bass fishing. It is a sport, but it is also entertainment. Nothing more boring than a good "pitchers duel" at a ball game!!! PS I make the comment regarding the hard to find Ike video because in the internet age, EVERYTHING is on video. find that this video being "unfindable" is interesting..thats all. If you have a negative comment, please keep it to yourself. Thanks. Quote
Willzx225 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I agree that Mike is a huge asset to the growth of our sport and I have met him and he is a Class A person. Yeah he might be a freak on TV but in person he is just like you and me; He loves fishing and he shows it! On a side note- I want to see the video of him breaking the window/ windshield with the SOSpenders. Heard about it a bunch but never saw the video. Quote
Bass XL Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 yeah that video never stops amazing me! what was the number 1 catch? Quote

Bass XL Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Im glad the NEVER GIVE UP vid is up now...Does anyone know where I can get that whole classic (2003) on DVD??? I"ve seen it advertised before. Quote
michbass Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Cant wait see see Ike back on his game. Still think he is great for the sport and getting younger people involved. Nice to see someone make it form the Club level. Quote
StatosDadRI Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Bassnajr, I was fortunate enought to be on the water everyday of that Classic I was the observer/boat tower for Davy Hite. Some of the anticks those guys did while stuck in the locks was unreal. Better than any SN live. After Ike had livewell trouble they interviewed Davy and asked him how his Triton live wells were. He replied "they work just fine if your turn them on" the camera guy almost pi---d his pants. Lasy year I drove Ike up to the water for the JWC and on practice day he left as soon as I dropped him in. After the National Anthem they called for boat One that was him with one of the RI JR Bassmasters he had left 30 minutes early. While he has done some odd things people need to know the other side of him. The night before practice of the JWC there was at least 20 kids in the lobby of the Biringham Convention Center at MIDNIGHT. He had set up soda cups and put $20.00 bills in them if the kids got the jig in the cup they got the $$. Well the kids were the state champions and I think he made several ATM runs. Bass XL Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Great stuff......I see someone in an Airrus hat and a blue shirt...probably Ben Quote
The Rooster Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I've read before that some people don't like Ike cause he breakdances on the bow of the boat after catching a big fish. I imagine that IF I could breakdance without breaking ME and that if it were me powerfishing for a $500,000 payday and I just landed a 7 pounder...............I'd dance too. Probably naked. Boy what a YouTube video that would make. ;D Quote

jrhennecke Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I think it is sad that Ike will probably be remembered for this one incident more than all of the good things he has accomplished. Quote
