Behind them I'll either be rootin' for Aaron Martens (who is due for a classic championship, although not as much as Gary Klein) or my home town boy John Crews out of Salem, Va. Don't know much about the lake, so I'm not sure of the fav's but I hear the practices are mighty interesting with some cold fronts coming through. Like to hear ya'lls predicitions. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted February 18, 2008 Super User Posted February 18, 2008 I'm going for Gerald Swindle. I fish a lot like him...stuff strung all over the boat. ;D Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 18, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 18, 2008 Who do I think will win? Aaron Martins. That last day is going to be a typical post front blue-bird day. That's when he should shine. Quote
THEbassmaster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 kevin vandam. i fish like him and he is from MI, which is where i do alot of my fishing Quote
brgbassmaster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Im going for kevin vandam he is from my home state and i love the way that guy fishes amazing at casting, presentation, and no matter what lake he goes to north or south catches bass somehow very versatile. Quote
bowtech_182 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I think everyone will be really suprised when Derek Remitz wins. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 19, 2008 Super User Posted February 19, 2008 I like Ike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 19, 2008 Super User Posted February 19, 2008 I will be pullling for Ike. But I don't expect him to win. I really don't care who wins just as long as it is an entertaining event. I guess the pros' nerves are starting to get restless. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 My favorites for whatever reason are Aaron Martens, Kevin Van Dam, Mike Iaconelli.............and even though he's new and probably won't do it twice in a row.........I like his attitude, seems like a great guy.........Boyd Duckett. But really I don't care who wins, this for me is a wakeup call to stand up and shake off the dust of winter and kick into spring time gear!!!! This is my superbowl!!!! Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 Yea, that would be cool to see an underdog win twice in a row, but... yup, doubt it. I liked his article in Bassin' magazine last fall about how he fished the classic last year. Some interesting views on why the way he fished the grass and the certain areas he fished. He swung for the fences the entire tourney and took risks. I like that attitude, dare to be brave and such. Be nice to see him at least finish well. I'm with Sam though. While I have my favorites, as long as it's a good tourney that's all that matters. My dad is hopefully tivoing all three days for me so that way I can get it on dvd. Plan on watching it with him Saturday and Sunday at his place. Maybe even getting in some fishing Sunday afternoon as well. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 id love to see IKE or TAKAHIRO win it again Quote
Minuteman Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Steve Kennedy. No particular tactical reason, I just like the guy. Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I am pulling for Gerald Swindle, good ole Alabama boy. He found out this past fall that his brother has cancer. He also had a rough year last year. Hopefully, he won't disqualify himself this year. It would be cool to see another Alabama boy win, Duckett, but two years in a row would be difficult. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted February 19, 2008 Super User Posted February 19, 2008 I think everyone will be really suprised when Derek Remitz wins. I won't be. He's my pick for the Classic win. This kid should have a bright career and even if he doesn't win this one there is for sure one with his name on it coming soon. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Just to check, what channel and times is it on. ESPN or ESPN2?? Isn't it usually on at about 8:00 a.m. EST?? Quote
alger319 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 my man Terry Scroggins.. or Peter T. and of course you can't count out KVD. Quote

Shadcranker Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I'm for Jeff Coble b/c he's gotten in two times as the Weekend Series Champ, vs. a bunch of weekend warriors. The fact that he has won it two of the three years that it has existed is amazing (he was top five at the Nationals at G'ville in 07 too). Only one spot for the Weekend series guy vs. 6 spots for the Federation nation boys. If he can't win it, I'm for Timmy Horton. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Very humble and he loves the sport and wants to make it better (he was a driving force behind the PAA). If you ever watch him on The Bass Pros or even on Bassmaster TV, he always goes into great detail to explain what he's doing and why. Quote
