I've complained a lot in the past because ESPN usually delays their tournament coverage for a week or two.  Well, that complaining is over as I started DVR'ing FLW tournaments.

FSN just showed the FLW Potomac event.  A tournament that took place 6/14-6/17.  The Detroit River tourney won't be broadcast until the end of August.  The Forrest Wood Cup won't be broadcast until the end of September.

What is the point in watching the coverage if the tourney took place almost two months ago?  You already know who won, etc.

I will say that I like the FLW production just a bit better.  They do a better job of spending time with each angler rather than ESPN's format of focusing on the eventual winner for the majority of the hour.

Anytime bass fishing is on tv is fine with me. Both circuits do a good job, but FLW wastes too much time on anglers and not the fishing. Personally, i don't care where so & so is from, but i'd like to see him (or her) landing fish instead of a tour about town.

Ideally, don't you think the anglers that are producing and making cuts have earned more exposure time for their sponsors?

Past two years have produced the chatter about Ike and others getting all the camera time.    ESPN was accused of shoving Ike and others down the viewers throats, and has seen by this years coverage, if you aren't catching, and making cuts, you don't get much air time.

I still think BASS is the ticket because of limited practice time, where as the FLW doesn't have an off limits.     To me, there are alot of anglers who can stay on fish the whole month, but to come in for short practice period and unlock pieces of the puzzle as conditions change shows me who the better anglers are.

Good sticks on both, but BASS by their rules make for better challenging tourney.

I've never seen the FLW show, but I do enjoy BASS. Unless I'm fishing, which is pretty often, I always watch it.

The bottom line though is that fishing is not mainstream as we think or want it to be and to expect any station to put forth the resources & money to broadcast a tourney like a baseball game is not going to happen.

I like FLW tv more but I have attended both Classics and Forrest Wood Cups and there isnt much that compares to a Bassmaster Classic, the one in Pittsburgh was amazing.

Burley,

You are missing the point of the delayed broadcast.

Get your friends over to watch the broadcast and place a big bet on who you think will win the tournament.

I am sure there are a few University of Tennessee grads out your way who will fall for this ploy and never catch on.

Give it a try and sooner than you think you will have that new 23 foot Ranger with the 250 Opti Max motor in your garage! ;)

What?

Are you talking about the same Classic that set THE ALL TIME record for LOWEST total weight? 3/4 lb "keepers" don't float my boat.

I dont think either one of them does a very good job with their tv coverage, but Id have to go with BASS.
