There is no difference. They both burn holes in your carpet, spill spike-it , drinks and what not on the floor, brings mud in your boat and hooks your seats, scratch your gel coat, and just mess up you boat. Oh ya and skip out of giving you gas money. Thats what they do. ;D lol

Nitro,

What are you doing to your co-anglers that they treat you and your boat like that? ;)

In all seriousness though.  The "angler" is the guy who is fishing out of his boat, "co-angler" is the a guy who is assigned to fish with the angler in the anglers boat.  Non boater and co-angler are more or less the same thing.

Wow, I think I have done at least a couple of those things to my partner's boats!  I hooked a seat and spilled a drink.  I STINK!  I do pay for gas and help win cash!  Of course, I have had partners that have done those things on my boat as well.  We are not pro's so we can pick our partners.  Pro's get whoever they draw.

It was intended as a joke. These things come up when co-angler is mention. But in a draw tourament you have to take them along. I often front end my co-angler so he can't get a cast in like on the show match fishing. ;D

Okay, granted it was meant as a joke - but I have a problem with boaters who talk bad about non-boaters and then sign up for "draw tournaments".  We have had this controversy in my local club and that's why it's a sore spot for me.  I fish some tournaments as a boater and others as a non-boater.  My major goal is to spend a day on the lake with somebody with similar interests and somebody I can learn from -- I do learn from my backseaters.  Just don't really like it when any particular group gets singled out for bashing just because they are in that group.

Whats the purpose in doing that?

I once overheard a backseater tell his boater at the weigh in that if he had any fishing ability he wouldnt be worried about the backseater catching fish behind him. Right after that, the two were separated by a few people because it was about to get ugly. The boater got mad because what the nonboater said made sense. Makes sense to me too.

Nitro - sometimes funny jokes when said in person just don't come across the same way in written form.  This is one of those times.
