Two to seven years behind bars, ruined life, ruined family's lives for $800?

How sad  :'(

I think they should take his boat - tackle - vehicle used to get to the ramp.. and anything else he had with him, loose all fishing/hunting privleges for life, & serve jail time

That's pretty sad that he would try to cheat other competitors out of their hard earned money.  He is where he belongs, maybe sitting on cement for a few years will make him think twice about cheating again.

Ha ha what a loser.  He cheated and still did'nt get first place.  Good thing he won't enter another tourney for a good 2 years or more, maybe never if people remember him.

Absolute SCUM.  The authorities should have told the other competitors what he did, leave for a little while, come back, take him to the hospital, and then jail. ;)

Back about 5 or 6 years ago there was a team disquafied ftom a local King Mackeral tournament for stuffing cigar minnows down its troat to increase the fish's weight. They got caught when the tournament communities biologist cut the fish open an six frozen cigar minnows in a fish that was barley cold. Loosers >:(

We had something similar happen on a tourny at Varner this year.  I do not know the details, but the pair of fishermen, are no longer allowed to fish in tournaments anywhere in the area that I know of....   all it took was a person who knew we were having a tournament, and reporting what they had seen.

Cheaters need to be taken out and publicly horse whipped, then put in the stocks....

IMHO.

2 to 7 years for cheating in a fishing tourney?  I think just the fact that he'll never be able to show his face on a body of water again and a big fine would do the trick but it seems crazy to spend that much time in jail over a fishing tournament.
