Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Day 1 , ...here we go!! (good thing, every other fishing show on today are the same episodes I've been watching week after week. ESPN and their back to back repeats are killing me!!) Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 24, 2007 Super User Posted February 24, 2007 I glad to see the classic is in the spring Come on Hackney don't let me down Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 Hackney definately has a chance IMO,...it's gonna be a jig bite. (the amazing Kreskin told me so,lol) Water finally warming up from last weeks shut down, beautiful day forcasted, perfect conditions for good brawl......GAME ON!!! Personally I would like to see Aaron martens get what he's got coming to him,....GO SPIN!! (I'd LOVE to see this thing won on spinning gear, hehe) Ike always promises to be entertaining. Not a bif Swindle fan but he knows the place inside and out. Should be a good one. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 And then there's KVD, the machine, how could I forget KVD,lol. (and such good taste in ice fishing clothes, ) Quote
L-Train Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Here is the thing I don't understand, why did they not show the weigh in live yesterday afternoon on ESPN2? I know it is going to be shown today, but it is the classic, fishing's biggest event...oh well i watched the internet feed, which by the way reminds me of old Kung-Fu movies, and the kickboxing that was on instead. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 Agreed. I thought I was going to be turning on a live broadcast. duh,lol So, answer me this,....the stuff that's on at 10pm tonight, will it be a repeat of what is on now or new stuff. Quote
boz24 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 The classic coverage already a JOKE! Saw the first day on ESPN, then they showed the same show again!! What the heck. I get pumped for this classic, like every year, then they handle it like crap. The sound was even bad for me. Sounded like they were in a box. I hope it gets better. GO IKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!! > Quote
eastkybass Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 The stuff tonight will be what happened today. I was hoping to live coverage of the wiegh in at least. I had the sound problem during the first showing too. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 24, 2007 Super User Posted February 24, 2007 Just watched Timmy Horton catch 2 on a Rat-L-Trap live Quote
boz24 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I will watch when it's on tonight. Just seems abit anti-climactic....the classic at 10:30 pm-12:00am. Tough to cheer and hollar with a little one sleeping. They seem to be catching some nice fish. Thanks for listening to my gripes....I was just so pumped to watch, and record all the fishing today. GO IKE...NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007 AOY!!! Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I'm very dissapointed with the Classic coverage! They show yesterday's coverage twice this morning and throw in little updates here and there. Then they're showing todays coverage tonight at 10p. What is that???? I was all pumped to get up this morning have my coffee and watch today's action. Thanks a bunch ESPN. : So I'm not too keen on the Classic rules and all but will there be any controversy over Horton's double catch? When he got em in it didn't look like one was hooked in the mouth. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 24, 2007 Super User Posted February 24, 2007 He was not sight fishing so it doesn't matter. The only time they have to be hooked in the mouth is when you can physically see the fish you are trying to catch. Quote
bassin_man Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Yes being disappointed in this mornings coverage is an understatement. Whats the point of airing the same thin right after you get done airing it the first time? But you know ESPN threw in some Day 2 "live" stuff so its alright in their eyes. Whats so hard about having Day 2 coverage instead of a repeat Day 1 show? Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Whats so hard about having Day 2 coverage instead of a repeat Day 1 show? If they've got correspondents down there the whole day I don't see what the big deal is with putting them on the air a little more? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 24, 2007 Super User Posted February 24, 2007 I was under the impression that they were going to do some live stuff after they aired the day 1 highlights. Good thing I caught it before the DVR kicked in for the second showing. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to show the exact same piece back to back. Quote
mjhutch1116 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I was not impressed with the coverage this morning on ESPN2 either. I was hoping for much more live coverage. I will watch tonight just to keep up with whats happening. I am rooting for the machine (van d**n), but I would also like to see the g-man win it also. Matt Quote
Bionicman Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Ike or Gerald Swindle are my guys KVD is ok too I like him Anyone but Aaron Martens.lol Dark Horse: Dean Rojas and/or Edwin Evers Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 What I don't understand is how ESPN2 had so much coverage for the Classic in 2005 and 2006, but this year they significantly cut back. I was looking forward to spending most on my Sat. & Sunday watching the classic and they cut off coverage at 10:00am and now I have to wait until 10:00pm for the weight-in. Very disappointing. Quote
tritonman Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 It easier to watch it, live on the computer. I have been to disappointed in espn-"bass" saturday to sit there and wait until 10:00pm Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 unofficial as of 1:39 #1: Tommy Biffle 33-5 #2: Ishama Monroe 31-5 #3: Skeet Reese 29-5 #4: Terry Scroggins 29-4 #5: Boyd Duckett 28-14 And it sounds like KVD isn't too far down there. Looks like it's turning into a pretty good race. Quote
StatosDadRI Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 BASS website should have live web streaming video. LBH you should get 6-10 out of the push we gave them, many states seem to be very interested. Been with AP much and did see and talk with JO during the casting kids, call me in 15 more, going to see the ladies go across the stage. Met ben and his dad and set him stright on the little one.
