Uncle Leo Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 WOOOO HOOOOO You guys were on Fire Leo and knew you were on'em cause we could hear the hoopin and hollarin all over the lake ;D Glad everyone had such a great time and was a pleasure to meet you there Next time, I'm gonna try to slow those soldier Boys down a little so I can take break...I'm too old for that pace ;D Big O www.ragetail.com Sorry about being so loud Big O, I never had a smallie that big in my boat. Ole Fred was shakin like a leaf! I just screamed like a school girl. Quote
Deb Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Way to go guys! Congrats on the great catches!! Sounds like a good time was had by all. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted May 10, 2010 Super User Posted May 10, 2010 Uncle Leo having a 6+ smallie in the boat is one of the few times it is acceptable for a man to scream like a girl IMO. ;D Well done. Sounds like it was a great trip. I sure wish I could have made it. Quote
Dinky Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I already have a 100% effective never fail method for recoveriny lures in trees. It's known as a chain saw. The method I showed roadwarrior involved pulling a dead 6' limb down on top of us into the boat! What a mess I made. Must have been half a chord of seasoned firewood in the boat! Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Sounds like you guys had fun! Next year, come to Texas! 8-) Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 10, 2010 Super User Posted May 10, 2010 Man- All I can say after reading these posts is I missed a phenomenal trip. Couldn't make it due to crap at work that is getting worse by the day. Sounds like I should have just quit and went down there. Congrats to all and I can't wait to see the pix. Leo- you could have sent me some at work to make me jealous and get me through the day. Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 10, 2010 Super User Posted May 10, 2010 Nice fish guys!!! I heard you hollerin' all the way up here. Way To Go! Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 10, 2010 Super User Posted May 10, 2010 I want to publicly thank Ghoti and Mary for hosting the wine and cheese parties on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Their kindness and generosity is exceeded only by my beauty. I also want to thank Firefightn15 for some of the most outstanding Cheddar I have ever tasted. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 Please post a group picture if you have one. Thanks! Quote
Mrs. Matstone Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Great pics and nice fish guys. Congrats on the trip! ;D Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 Congrats to Fred & Leo. Those are really nice bass. Its great to see some trophy bass from a new to you lake/system. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Thanks Dwight, that means a lot coming from you. There is something about Reservoirs, I seem to be in tune with this type of system. Quote
J-B Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 From the sound of it, I missed out on some very fine fishing. Congrats to all on your catches. Initially, I had to cancel out of the trip due to financial issues. As it turned out, I would have had to pass on the trip anyways as I have been nursing 3 broken ribs for the past month. 39 year old men just are not built for falling off of dirt bikes anymore, but it was fun and I look forward to riding AND fishing again soon. Fishing will be first. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 You were tuned in for sure "Unc". I'm ready for another round at Pickwick. You can find someplace to fish in just about any weather. I'm anxious for a second go round. So much water. So little time. Quote
Big-O Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Saturday night Gary (ghoti) and his lovely wife Mary hosted the welcoming party which repeated on Sunday evening with wine & cheese. ;D ;D ;D Thanks RW for reminding me and Thankyou Mary and Gary for another wonderful welcoming party for our Roadtrip Crew....Terrific as usual Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 Hey Leo. I've been following the different posts, congrats on some nice catches down there! As far as being irregular, aren't we all? Quote
Dinky Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Hey Leo. I've been following the different posts, congrats on some nice catches down there! As far as being irregular, aren't we all? Long Mike was correct, it was some of the best aged cheddar I have ever had-thanks for sending it. Hope you can bring some more in person next year! As for Leo's irregularity- his pepper relish should have taken care of that! Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 13, 2010 Super User Posted May 13, 2010 Here's the photos Bassin Sergeant took from Big O's boat. Three fish were caught in about a twenty minute time frame. It's possible there were more lying in wait. But, the temp was in the 90s. It was the first time I had used a live well, and I did not want to keep the fish overly long out of their element. Quote
Deb Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 What fun!!!!! Wish we could have made it down Glad you were thinkin bout the fishes health. Quote
