Triton21 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Nah, there won't be any spectators on that circuit to contend with, lOL. Well I guess I will have till next year to repay you for all the help you gave me. Hope you guys load up or stay in a wet county. Good Luck guys, have fun and above all Be Careful. They should be on the beds at Ky then, Kelley Quote
ProCrafter Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Well......with the collapse complete I am gonna cut my losses and stay local.....will post in Western Bass Fishing for the same week and see if there is an interest in a regional Roadtrip at Potholes Reservoir. Next year we'll make it happen! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 Just got a note from Big O. For those of you that met with him last year, I know his insight was inspiring. I'm glad we will all have the same opportunity to talk with Steve again this year. Hope to see ya there! -Kent Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 Sad to report I am canceling my plans to go to Pickwick, had a lot of unexpected expenses so far this year. Was still planning to go, my credit card company would have been happy. But with the lower attendance and discussions about the number of boats its better I save this money and plan for next year.....  :'( Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 Looking forward to meeting "Big O". Does Oscar Robertson know his name has been lifted? The hitch is now on the truck. Insurance for the boat is in the works. Everything is on schedule for me to take delivery the week I get back from Georgia, and before April. About all that is left is to register the boat and the trailer and take delivery. No, I'm really not getting anxious. Eagerly anticipating getting out of here for a week's fishing in Georgia. By the end of next week I'll probably be getting antsy. Quote
Simp Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Mike and I will be there. If you and your dad decide to cancel, please let us know. You still have half the cabin reserved! Don't take that the wrong way, we are not holding your feet to the fire, but I would like to open it back up if you are not coming. Otherwise, I'm still jazzed! Exactly RW!! I wanted to clarify and make sure what your plans was as well. Right now I'm a little dumb founded over the whole thing. I really didn't expect this at all to happen. I'm glad to hear Steve will be there though. Give me literally a day or two and I'll get back to you to once again to confirm or possibly pull out. I really don't want to leave you hanging and I apologize that I'm even having to consider it. Quote

Simp Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Simp, you gotta show. Us Illinois boys will outnumber everyone else 2-1. Besides, we all want to check out your new boat!!! See you there! Ok well I talked to my Pops and he still want to go to Pickwick also. Our club goes to KY Lake each year we can skip it this year and finally go catch some smallies for the first time! So RW my dad and I confirm again our reservation. BTW I just got back from the boat repair shop its going to be over 400$ for some crap I can't remember that is screwing up high RPG stuff. Oh well at least I talked the guy down 300$ when I bought the boat a few weeks ago. I'd also like to try and get a boat passenger count going. It would help with getting people to stay or still join the trip. So I'll try to start one just add your name for the list you belong to. This is just a un official thing and feel free to add status like (trying to come) ect. Just high light the list with your mouse right click and click copy and then past it in your post and add you name to the list you belong to. Lets try to keep this thing going and have a good time! Super User .ghoti. Posted March 18, 2010 Super User Posted March 18, 2010 Is anybody planning to be there Saturday? I'm planning the next installment of the Saturday Night Wine & Cheese Soiree. We had a good time last year, and this year will be just as good, although with a few less people. And, if not many folks will be there Saturday, we'll just do it again Sunday. Not that there's a lot to plan. I would just like a ballpark idea of how many people will be there. I ran out of wine last year, but brought too much food. I'd like to do better this year. Mary has said,"we won't be running out of wine this time", and has stockpiled quite a selection. None of it came in a box. ;D ;D ;D I hope everybody shows up. We'll bring wine, cheese, fruit, meats, and some sort of crackers, chips or bread. Don't like any of that? Bring what you do like. Don't care for wine? Bring what you like; nobody will be offended. If you bring some fine, old single malt or some top shelf cognac, I may be tempted to "borrow" some. Looking forward to seeing everybody again. I'm disappointed that some friends from last year won't be there this time, but I understand. See ya there. Cheers, GK Quote

Anyone that didn't have the pleasure of meeting Big-O last year is in for a huge treat. He is as genuine and down to earth as they come. And did I mention he can flat out catch fish! (he can also shoot the bull with the best of us) Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 What the heck? The two fellows that were going to travel with me are not going to make it. I'm disappointed, but they had legitimate concerns, and I was not depending on their contributions to fuel expenses. So, now, I may leave on Friday, and get there in time for the party. I can also be the designated driver if one is needed. I'm a teetotaler. But, some caramel Coke or white Sprite will serve just fine. Provided it's one of the good vintages. No point in getting there in time to fish on Saturday, since my seven days begins on Sunday. But, on the bright side, I won't have to drive through the night on Saturday. Can get up bright and early to hit the water on Sunday. Pencil me in for the Saturday Soiree. Nothing to prevent me from attending, barring unforseen circumstances. I'm feeling better already. Things are looking up. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 Hey "Big O", the USPS just delivered 8 packs of Smokin' Roosters. Just in time for my trip to GA. Any chance you are considering producing a smaller version, like you did with the craw? These should work just fine, but there are times when they like a scaled down bait. I bet there are times it would be killer in a 2/3 or 3/4 size version. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 I'm heading south tomorrow. So if you don't see me for the next 7 - 9 days, not to worry. Enjoy the respite. Pick up the boat on the 30th. Everything is done. Boat and trailer insured and registered. Hitch and wiring good to go. Can handle the seven contact plug, and with the adapter, the four wire trailer plugs. Got a cover. The keel guard is being installed. It's good to go, and I'm ready to go canoe fishing in Georgia for a week. Quote
jettech Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Can I show up if I just tent camp at one of the camping areas? I just might be there if thats okay. Quote
