Super User firefightn15 Posted October 25, 2009 Super User Posted October 25, 2009 Speed's chicken was one of the highlights of this years trip. He still won't give me his recipe! Ken, Speed's recipe is a bit refined; it's not just something you throw together. He gave it to me and I spent weeks getting it right. Because of the many herbs and spices needed, it becomes a nightmare just getting everything together. His chicken was the best yardbird I ever had! Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted October 30, 2009 Super User Posted October 30, 2009 I'm not sure Uncle Leo, but if RW has in mind what I think he does, you may want to bring a shower cap and have a rain suit on hand! Quote

Uncle Leo Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Glad I can give you something to think about other then fishing. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted November 5, 2009 Super User Posted November 5, 2009 while I'm sure that kind of behavior is pretty common up there in Northern Illinois, you boys better remember where this road trip is taking place at. I wonder if there'll be enough closet space for Leo and all those extra outfits he'll be bringing. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted November 9, 2009 Super User Posted November 9, 2009 Is anyone planning on getting to Pickwick a day or two ahead of time to get some "practice", and a bit of a feel for the lake? To date, a couple of members are interested in sharing my ride and a room, but nothing confirmed. If either can make it, my intention to get there ahead of time will depend on what they can do. If they can make it, I won't do anything that would jeapardize their ability to go. I'm looking for any advantage, fair or "unfair" I can get. Quote
steezy Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I'll be arriving 2 days prior to the event but not bringing a boat. I figured there would be a few others getting there early. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted November 9, 2009 Super User Posted November 9, 2009 Our northern group is leaving as soon as we can. Likely be there on Saturday sometime. Obviously, being six months out, plans can/will change. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted November 9, 2009 Super User Posted November 9, 2009 I have two interested in traveling with me. If both go, still have room for one or two more. Will be traveling I-78 into PA, and picking up I-81 south. Five can ride comfortably. Full size, four door pickup with a cap on the bed. Plenty of room for luggage and gear, including rods to 7.5 feet. It's a short bed, but the rods can fit diagonally. As stated, it's six months away. I'm trying to cover all the bases before then. The details can be finalized a couple of weeks out. For me, half the fun in going on any trip is the planning and anticipation. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted November 9, 2009 Super User Posted November 9, 2009 If you are driving down 81, at some point you be about 4 miles from my house. Exit 17 in Chambersburg, PA Quote
