Super User cart7t Posted September 11, 2009 Super User Posted September 11, 2009 Thanks for the heads up Leo. I'll add that to the list I've made to this point: If you see RW crawling in the middle of the road across from the Lodge, he's only going for more liquor and cigarettes. Do not attempt to surprise Burley by awakening him, he sleeps in the nude. Bring plenty of extension cords. The old guys may need extra outlets to charge their boats and personal mobility vehicles. Mike will go both ways, he's also in charge of drowning the non-boaters. Prepare to evacuate the lake region if Leo eats pancakes, otherwise, just ignore him if he's hanging around Muddy's cabin in high heels or pumps. Quote

Correction made, I required a gas mask, my problem was with the beans, at least I was somewhat even. What is it with pancakes, really? Quote
Super User CWB Posted September 11, 2009 Super User Posted September 11, 2009 Uncle Leo, tell us about the pancakes. It was ghastly, an experience which should not be repeated. I think you spelled gas tly wrong. Go ahead and tell him but only if he promises I get the shirt out of it. And it probably wasn't the pancakes at all, it was the Kentucky butter and syrup. If I recall, it was pretty windy the rest of that day anyway. Quote

Please, Ken already posted a photo without one on. My God do we need to see that again? Send him some type of rag already. Otherwise he may eat pancakes when next he sees you. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 11, 2009 Super User Posted September 11, 2009 OK, got it. Leo + beans = Bad. Ken + pancakes = The end of days biblical style. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted September 13, 2009 Super User Posted September 13, 2009 Ken will never get my Mook T-shirt. However, I will be happy to send him my BR Kentucky Lake T-Shirt from last Spring. Unfortunately, when I was re-greasing the bearings on my boat trailer the other day, I somehow managed to get grease all over it. I'm sure Ken will not mind. At least he will not be shirtless. Did I mention that he will never get my Mook T-Shirt? Quote

I guess Muddy will have to hook me up with a MOOK shirt. Quote

NewAngler Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 anyone driving from northern virginia? if so, this might increase my chances of being able to go. might be only able to go for a couple days. and will probably camp somewhere to cut costs. anyone down? the liklihood of me being able to get away are slim to none, but i'm hoping the slim to become greater. let me know. thanks, fellas. Super User roadwarrior Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 The "cost" is mostly about time, not money. Unless you fly, the total outlay could be as low as $450 if you can carpool and share lodging. Here's an estimate assuming you arrive Sunday and leave Friday (5 nights, 4 days fishing): Lodging: 150 BR fee: 50 License: 25 (10 days, out-of-state) Food: 75 Gas (?): 100 Misc: 50 This assumes you bring your own drinks! 8-) Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 Kent, registration is 50 this year. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 Edited... How 'bout my numbers, close? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 Edited... How 'bout my numbers, close? I would say that number might even be a little high. Ronnie and I brought the Bass Bus to Guntersville, towing Riskkid's boat and I think my total cost was around 600, including about 400 worth of gas. Last year, staying in the campground with Jimzee and Pitchinkid, my total cost was considerably less even after factoring in the food for the Chicken Dinner. I bet 450 would be enough for just about anyone to go on this trip, barring those flying in. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 25, 2009 Super User Posted September 25, 2009 BTW, Long Mike...We might need a box of red, too. They say beggars can't be choosers, but they're wrong! : Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 25, 2009 Super User Posted September 25, 2009 Red!? We don't need no stinkin Red! Quote
Uncle Leo Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Who are you guys kidding, if it comes in a box you will drink it. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 27, 2009 Super User Posted September 27, 2009 Oh, Ye of little brain who would make sport of my wine preference; have you no respect for a man who has spent a lifetime searching for the perfect fifty-cent glass of wine? Quote

And welches on a shirt won on ebay. Think of it like this Mike. You can get two glasses of that exquisite wine you so desire for the price I won the shirt for. Quote
CJ Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 White wine in a box is okay but, I really like that white wine in a jar! It's the best bang for the buck! Quote
Super User CWB Posted September 27, 2009 Super User Posted September 27, 2009 White wine in a box is okay but, I really like that white wine in a jar! It's the best bang for the buck! I'm with CJ. A guy I work with is from Tennessee and recently came back from vacation visiting relatives. He handed me a jar that looked like an orange juice jar filled with water and told me to take a sip of this. Smmmooottthhh. Packs a wallop too! That homemade "white wine" is good stuff. Quote
