Super User firefightn15 Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 Special request to all the newer members: If any of you are remotely thinking of the road trip, PLEASE go!! Last year was my first and I was nervous as hell going in where angels fear to tread. I was at the Kentucky Lake Resort earlier than anyone else and the first two people I met were Road Warrior and Big O. A couple of short intros with these two guys and it felt just like home. It turned out that every last one there was as approachable as a big ribeye sided with mushrooms and onions. Make your plans now and be there. Trust me, you'll never have a better vacation. And the new friends you make..........you'll never forget 'em!! I would only add that you would need to be on the look out for men with furry hoods, defective chairs, and empty wine boxes that you may trip over. One more thing, if you haven't ever been in a boat with over a 50 hp, get ready for some amazing g's So sign on newbies and get set for the ROAD TRIP of a life time!! http://roadtrip.bassresource.com/ Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 You know the answer to that. Next time you go full throttle, warn a guy! Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 Kelly, Yup! It was me. Now, what would it take for me to white-knuckle you into the same situation? As all of us road trip veterans know, the road trip is a hellofalot of fun and Everyone is welcome to attend, but there are some folks who might be a little intimidated by all of us regulars. Many do not understand that it's just a bunch of guys and gals, regardless of experience, who want to get together, tell lies, go fishing, and have fun. Many do not understand that the road trip IS NOT A TOURNAMENT. It's just for fun! Triton21 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I have been to all of the Roadtrips except Guntersville. Really sorry I had to miss it. It is a great time for one and all with lots of laughs, lots of fishing, knee deep BS, and wonderful comradery. Over the years I have made many good friends here at the BR Forum and it is great to be able to put a face with the handle. I even caught my PB Largemouth at the second Lake Fork trip(8lb 9oz) and hope to better my Smallmouth PB(6lb 8oz) at Pickwick. The most outstanding aspect I have noticed, there is no "Big I, Little You" with this group. Big Mike is the only 'ARSEHOLE' in the bunch. J-K Mike ;D ;D So come one come all and have a Grand Time with us in May. All Members are welcome and some Members even bring a friend. Kelley Quote
simplejoe Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 You know the answer to that. Next time you go full throttle, warn a guy!  Too funny. ;D Last year was my first year also, I went on the trip just to put faces with names and fish at a Lake I might not even see again. I figured when I got there last year, everybody will be going there own way, doing their own thing, besides the banquet dinner would be the only time we hung out. I couldn't of been more wrong, Soon as I got there I was welcomed by a group of guys and gals just hanging out in the outside sitting area. Through out the trip the only time everybody wasn't together, was when we were fishing. For me It was cheap trip, but a trip of a lifetime. Alot of laughs, great bunch of guys. Just don't eat the chicken. ;D Don't miss out, you won't be able to come back here and brag how much fun you had. Quote
