I'll be driving down from Mass. Room for one more for sure, and possibly two.

Here's my route. If interested and can meet us along the way, let me know.

Leaving MA mid morning on May 1. Rte 95 to NJ Turnpike, rte 78 at Newark to I-81, through NJ, PA, a corner of MD where another will join me, through VA into TN. Get I-40 west and then on to Pickwick Landing.

A couple of state highways between I-40 and Pickwick Landing.

It will be a banzai run to reach our destination around sunrise, approx.

If interested, pm me. I've got a four door pickup and a cap with locking door on the back. Room for gear and luggage to be safely stowed out of the weather.

Comfortable ride, easy to drive. Navigation system, and everything but a sun roof and overhead dvd player.

Tom, I'm driving from Tulsa but you have such a nice looking ride I'm willing to meet you in say, New Jersey just to have the opportunity to ride in that truck.  Besides, just think how much gas it will save me!

I'd suggest you meet me at my home. You don't want to leave your truck in the parts of NJ through which I'll be driving.

You can have my truck's garage space. Don't have to worry about the elements or ultra violet rays damaging the finish or your dash.

It's only a three and a half hour ride. The peace of mind should be worth an extra seven hours of round trip driving.

That pic was taken when it was new, three years ago. But, it looks the same today, only the miles have changed.

I posted it so any interested party could see what they'd be riding in.

I've had pickups that look like this.

I had Target as a sponsor in those days. Truth is, it was so banged up, I painted the bullseye on it so other drivers had something to aim at.

I agree.  My check went out, first class, last Tuesday.  First class is supposed to reach its destination anywhere in the contiguous forty-eight within three days.

It hasn't shown up on my bank statement yet.  But, I'm keeping a close watch for further developments.

To the two new guys above..... ;)

Relax.   ;D

Three months to go still.  There will be lists-a-plenty posted at some point, but the form has only been out for a week.

Trust me, the anticipation is worth it.

Trust me. I'm plenty relaxed. Just having some fun, like the guys in the know do with that "chicken" thing.

I was kind of hoping that Glenn would have added a chicken with all his new smilie additions.

You'll get to hear about chicken and all the other shenanigans that have occurred on these trips.  They are ummm, interesting, to say the least.... ;D

Plus, Ronnie (Alpster) is coming down again this year. Believe me, that alone is worth the trip.

;D

The Chicken thing.

MMMMMMMM. I just started thinking of Gene's Cobbler he made that night.

I'll have my check out in a little while, like Speed said we have some time left and I have alot of other stuff to pay for.

Hey Wayne,

I am so looking forward to this trip, but lets not set the bar too high. I don't know nothing about the chickens. ;)

The postman probably saw FIRST CLASS and

knew it couldn't be for Mike. ;D

Did you ask for a receipt?

I did consider sending it registered mail, return receipt requested, but I figured if he needed the fifty bucks that badly .....................

and it also had Road Trip on the "Pay to" line.

How many people attended last years trip ?

Bob, to the best of my recollection around sixty people attended the road trip last year.  We are hoping to have around a hundred for this year's trip, but with the economy being what it is I doubt we will get to that number.  We'll see.

I'm doing my best to pick up hitchhikers along the way.  Got one confirmed, and another likely.

Room for four, but could squeeze five in if needed.

Be sure to mark me down as needing a seat.  That's why I responded as quickly as possible, to get in line.

As I said in the reservation form, that could change.  If it does, I'll let you know.

Tom, here's how it works.  First, we get a handle on how many people are bringing boats, then we get a handle on how many empty seats there are on those boats, then we get a handle on how many people are needing seats on those boats.  We ask the boat owners not to fill up their empty seats prior to the actual road trip, because it will allow the members needing seats to meet and fish with a different boater every day of the trip.  Based on previous history, there are always more seats available than there are butts to fill them.  I hate to disappoint you, but signing up early does not put you in any better position than the person who signs up at the latest possible date, i.e. April 1.  Most  boaters will block a day or two to fish with their buddies, but almost all of them will leave days open to fish with new members.  Others, me included, will lend their boats to other members in order to fish with another boater.

I have been much more verbose that I usually am, but I want to emphasize that this trip is for fun.  It is not a tournament.  Everything, with the exception of the Wednesday night Banquet, is fluid.  We make up the rules (if any) and schedules as we go.

Well, if I had known that,  I could have left that fifty bucks in the bank, and maybe gotten two cents in interest.

I'm just being a smartazz about getting in early.

For those of you who are planning, or hoping, or are actually going to make it to Pickwick, I have a special request.  When you post on the other boards could you take a minute to hype the trip?

If nothing else, you might want to add a line to your signature that invites viewers to visit the road trip site.  http://roadtrip.bassresource.com/
