Super User .ghoti. Posted September 28, 2009 Super User Posted September 28, 2009 Are we having the "Friday Night Wine & Cheese Soiree" again this year? If any who will be there Friday night will PM me, I'll make sure to bring enough this time. We ran out of wine last time. I only brought four bottles, Kent brought two and CJ brought one. That was not enough. CWB, what's this obsession with the Mook shirt? I have one. I'd be happy to trade it for something of equal value. Say a new GLX. Or a new Steez. Or a,......... you get the idea. ;D ;D ;D Quote

The good news is RW says there's a Liquor store across the road from the park we can crawl to in an emergency. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 29, 2009 Super User Posted September 29, 2009 There's a liquor store nearby? That's great news for Kent and me. During the last outing, Kent and I had the foresight to bring with us ample quantities of the devil's brew. Unfortunately, other individuals either didn't plan ahead or had to fly in. In either case, our meager supplies were set upon by hoards of the less fortunate. The last couple of nights of the trip our supplies had been depleted to the point that I was afraid that I would have to go to bed sober. Quote

The sign of a good gathering: you don't remember what night it was. ;D Whichever it is, I'll do it again this trip. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 29, 2009 Super User Posted September 29, 2009 As I recall, the cheese and wine was Saturday night with some remnants Sunday evening. I fished with CJ and arrived at the lodge Saturday morning. Although liquor is sold at the bars, there are no liquor stores close. There are gas stations, one next to the park, that sell beer only. So, beer is easy, but bring your own wine and whiskey. 8-) Quote
BassinSoldier Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Word on the street is that Bryan and I aren't shippin out again 'til 2011 so we oughtta be able to make it again!!! ;D I was upset about missing this roadtrip, but it seems like I'll be there afterall. I'll make sure I have plenty of "supplies" just like last time, and I'm gonna do my best to stay upright wherever I'm sitting, too. Quote

I heard the sound of a coconut hitting the deck and not a drop spilled. Quite impressive I would have to say. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 Is it any wonder? The Army moto is "This We'll Defend" And the West Point Motto "Duty, Honor, Beer, Country" You guys make us proud. Quote

From one "hophead" to another, I'll have a few new brews for you to try. I actually found one beer that just may have too much hops. I wouldn't have thought that possible, but it just may be true. I'll bring a couple for you, and you can decide for yourself. Quote
BassinSoldier Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 If you are as big on hop character as I am let me know, and I will bring a couple of double IPA's that will blow your mind, buddy! Quote
