Just realized after seeing your comment, this thread was recently dug up from 16 yrs ago. 😂🤣

Gotta love responding to a thread old enough to drive a car...which I'm currently doing.

I throw Augertails and Jelly worms, and found a mold that is similar to the 7 5 Culprit that I use too. I'm 47, and a lot of my baits come from the 80s and 90s unless I'm making them myself.

I have been consolidating all my tackle lately and still can't leave to go fishing without Lunker City Sluggo's(Not a worm but tend to throw em more than fluke), Mister Twister/BPS Curly Tail worms, and still fish culprits and ribbon tail Power Worms all the time. In summer time when everyone is throwing 10" ribbontails, I like to throw the BPS Tournament Curly Tail worm or Mister Twister Phenom in 9" black and blue tail...Pitch it, swim it etc...the 6" curly tail makes a fantastic bait to throw after working an area with a Speed worm to get extra bites....Much more subtle....    Tubes are still great as well, fish rarely see em imo....Lakes in FLorida get pounded with pressure so I truly believe throwing different colors like solid purple, Red shad etc. and slightly different looks matter.    A 4" Curly Tail ringworm on a spinning rod with a small 1/16 ounce weight is one of the best Bass baits to get action.

I do always carry some old Manns translucent Blueberry/Strawberry Straight tailed worms with small paddle tail. Something about that color on bright days that seems to work when it works.

I had some of these ringworms back in the 80s. They produced.

Even worse when you remember most of the contributors to the thread …. :)

I will always carry and fish a plastic worm. The Zoom Trick Worm is the decades top producer followed by a Culprit. People around me get hung up on the creature baits and the stick baits so much that a old school worm can be just as productive. It has been my go to lure for a lot longer than this thread started. I don't foresee a change in that for me.

I just got lucky and found some 9'' jelly worms in junebug and dark purple. I bought 3 pounds of each color. I plan to get a couple more pounds of each in a couple weeks. I like them that much. I just want to make sure I can have some to use in 10 years. Hopefully someone buys the rights and starts making jellyworms and other Mann's great baits.

If Creme was to go out of business, I think I might cry a bit. Thankfully they are still making Scoundrels and Tubeworms every day. There are a few other classic worms that are no longer made that I would love to see come back to market.

I still work a Mann’s Jelly Worm in Blackberry at times.
