Bass Bro Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Hey guys just wanted some suggestions on good lures for bass,i love using buzz baits but what about crank baits>for shollow water?Any advice is appriciated! Thanks Quote
Uncle Leo Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Shallow water cranking will produce. Try a Manns Minus 1 or a Footloose. One of my all time favorites is a Storm Sub Wart. Get risky and bang off laydowns, have fun. Quote

njbasser Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Sub Wart FTW!!! ;D Recently, i have been using a Rapala DT Fat 03, its been working very well. They are also coming out with a DT Fat 01 soon, i'll be picking up a few. Shad Raps are very good, and the whole DT serires is great Quote
sambrochill Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 umm some crankbaits i personally like are the Rapala JSR-5 or JSR-7 and a good top water is the Rapala JR-9 i also like strike king lures, i get them in the sexy shad color. The other day a buddy of mine pulled in about 15 Largemouth Bass with one lure he didn't give me measurements on all of his catches but im sure it works. Welcome aboard and i hope i was of some help to you. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Bandits are hard to beat, they are an all around great lure. The Bandit 100 dives 0-4 feet, and comes in a ton of colors. The Bandit Footloose dives 0-1 feet, and can be a great little wake bait. The best thing is they are cheaper than 95% of the other cranks out there, but made very well. I have equal or better luck with Bandits than with every other crank, including the expensive ones. Quote
loomis spookwalker Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Try a Rapala DT6-10 or Fat Free Shad. They keep my lines tight. Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Most of those are good (maybe not the storm wild eye baits or the matzuo baits...). That list reads like you went down the aisle at Walmart and grabbed a selection... Nice start for your tackle box though. Quote
