huskyjerk Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I store my hooks, sinker, and jigheads in various plano utility boxes separated into sizes, styles, and weights, but they always seem to get mixed up inside the box. Then I have to hold up the hooks next to each other and try to figure out if its a 3/0 or a 4/0, etc. Does anyone know a way to make these items stay in there compartment? Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I was always having the same problem. Now I just keep my hooks in their original packages - most good hooks have a resealable bag. Then I just put them in size order and wrap them in a rubber band. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Does that Falcon box have the adjustable slide out and slide in pieces of plastic (like plano)? My plano box I use now is a pain because the hooks slide under the plastic from one slot to the next. Quote
jivey Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 No, the compartments are not adjustable and they go all the way down so the hooks don't slide. They are also labled by size/weight. Quote

Stasher1 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 If you don't want to glue the dividers, you can wrap them with a single layer of masking tape and they'll fit tight enough stay in place. I've been doing this for a while now and it seems to be working fine. That Falcon box is pretty darn tempting, though... :-/ Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 21, 2008 Super User Posted August 21, 2008 That Falcon box is pretty darn tempting, though... :-/ Nah, not beeg 'nuff.......And there I am ready to store what I used after a day, a couple of hooks, 2 maybe 3 sinkers and a couple of jigheads, I ask myself: do I really need to carry all that terminal tackle ? ...... then The BaitMonkey replies ----> " Better having and not needing than needing and not having", I pack my bags and go home feeling relief, The BM has spoken the last words. Dude, glue the dividers. Yep. Clear silicone is easily removed if you want to change the layout. For tiny hooks, you can put a small glob of silicone in the tray, and when it dries just stick the hook points in the silicone. makes it very easy to get at them. Quote

I'm steadily reducing the amount of unecessary crap I bring with me in the kayak. Right now it's a soft bag with four Plano 3600 cases and about 10 bags of soft plastics. I'm looking at cutting that in half over the next couple months. I'm getting tired of having a big tackle bag between my knees all day. It'll make a huge cockpit seem cramped after a little while. Anyway, sorry for the hijack. Carry on. Quote
