skillet Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Have done really well fishing Super Flukes weightless. All the fish have come from the top 2ft of water or less. Was wondering if anyone fishes them weighted (keel weighted hooks maybe) with good results??? As Ever, skillet Quote
MARSH MASTER Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I've fished the magnums with a 1/8 weighted hook and did very well. The action it has with the weight is unique. You can actualy make the bait turn around and star decending backwards. It looks like a injured bait fish. I just jerk the rod up from a 9 oclock position to a 12 oclock position and then let the bait fall with slack line. Pay close attention to your line becouse not all the time you feel the bite. Go try it you might like the action Iknow I do. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted August 11, 2008 Super User Posted August 11, 2008 Nope, I've never caught a fish on a weightless Super Fluke. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted August 11, 2008 Super User Posted August 11, 2008 Nope, I've never caught a fish on a weightless Super Fluke. It's probably the hat. Take it off and burn it. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 11, 2008 Super User Posted August 11, 2008 I have had good luck fishing weightless flukes in moss and weeds. I just bring them across the tops of the moss in little short jerks, and then let them fall into holes. Quote
Movarus Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I've got both my girlfriend and my brother to catch fish on weightless flukes, they work great. I myself have added weight in rivers to get them to sink before the current takes them too far, and I've had success. Pretty much fishing them the same way as the weightless ones. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted August 11, 2008 Super User Posted August 11, 2008 Throw them on a c-rig and watch what happens. Quote
Aaron Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I almost always use 1/8oz weighted shank hooks on my fluke. I have caught more when weighted than unweighted. I even caught a sauger on one last fall. Quote
Still a Bigbuckifan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted by: fishfordollars Posted on: Today at 2:25pm Throw them on a c-rig and watch what happens. X2 One of my go to baits. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I'll throw them with a swivel for two reasons a little more weight keeps line twists down Quote
skillet Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks, (almost ;D) everyone!!! As Ever, skillet Quote
