Just making my final list, but I think everything fishing and boat related is packed. I'm really pumped to get down there. I kind of wish I would have taken some time off of work next week instead of just coming down this weekend.

BTW - I still don't really have anyone lined up to fish with either day, not a big deal if I fish by myself, but if anyone wants to ride along you're more than welcome.

I'd be happy to join you for a few hours on Sunday if you still have an open seat by then. Talk to me at the winefest Saturday night.

Keri and I are looking for open seats on Thurs and Fri, so let me be the first to thank Mike for ensuring every butt is seated! :)

Well, if it's in the pavilion area, I suppose that's where we will have our group meeting. I need some guidance from Greg and Deb on this one.

The meeting room is in the Lodge. The pit is on a trailer that can be moved to right outside the meeting room. It's a pretty cool set-up.

I'll be at the store part of today and on KENTUCKY LAKE (nope I'm not excited) part of the day. Let me know if there's anything I need to get done in the next couple of days. I'll be back at the store Fri and Sat. We have a tx Sun.

Mike, I've had a couple of requests for that Mudd Pie, which night do you want it.....please don't tell me Tues!!!

For all the Road Trip attendees, here is the schedule of events.

Saturday - Wine and cheese party in cabin 7 at 7:00. Bring your own 7&7.

Sunday - Nothing planned, but there are sure to be several of us in the meeting room, sitting around and telling lies.

Monday - RW and friends will be cooking burgers and serving at 7:00. A donation of $5.00 person is requested. Following dinner we will hear a presentation from an expert on the new side-scan sonar technology.

Tuesday - Lund Explorer and his bride will be throwing some steaks on the pit for us, and serving at 7:00. Again, a $5.00 donation is requested. For desert we will have a presentation from Big-O regarding structure fishing, or whatever he wants to talk about.

Wednesday - Dinner in Moors Restaurant or where ever you wish at your own expense. Join us in the meeting room at 7:00 to hear a presentation from Keri and Deb on tournament fishing from a woman's point of view.

Thursday - No plans, just like Sunday.

Friday - Most of us head for home.

Mike;

Thanks for posting the schedule. So far I have found no mispellt wurds.

I tried to sign up for the Tuesday night dinner but was unable to do so--computerus interruptus occurred and I experienced modulation non-recognition issues. Nonetheless, I will attend Tuesday's dinner as well as all other festiviities.

I have an open seat in my boat on the 17th, 20th, 21st.

On Tuesday night, I believe we'll be having the Big O presentation for dessert, not desert...another case of spell checker not catching a correctly spelled word used incorrectly. :slywink:

Chomping at the bit up here in the semi-frozen north. Jackie has been getting stuff together to bring down. Had she been married to Hannibal, he would never have made it over the Alps.... The elephants would have gone on strike! At least she is leaving the boat and fishing gear to me so I should find room for at least one fishing rod.

We're hauling out of here in the wee hours Saturday morning. Plans are to hit the world's best bait/tackle store prior to heading for the resort in time for the weigh-in. Maybe Deb can talk the wife into picking up a dozen or so "secret baits" that she can use to stomp me all week long.

Tuesday night's dinner had 13-14 people sign up, but I had placed an order for quite a few more steaks (20-25) so we have plenty of extras for more folks to join in. Only question I would have is whether this grill is charcoal or not. If I don't hear, its no biggie as I'll be bringing plenty along to be safe.

Deb- Can you give directions to the store from the Moors?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that will feel the need to spend money we don't have on stuff we don't need. We stopped at the store on the way to Kenlake 2 years ago and it was pretty impressive. I can only imagine what it's like now that you're involved.

Also, big thanks to all involved:

Glenn and Keri, Mike, Deb and Greg, Mike & Kent and Steve & Jackie for generously offering to cook for the mob, and everyone else behind the scenes I might have forgotten about.

From Moors.....follow the beacon to the PREMIERE Tackle store on KY Lake....Fisherman's Headquarters....... :D

Actually, from the resort head back out and when you get to the stop sign, turn L. Go approximately 5 miles back to Hwy 68. Turn R go approximately 3 miles. Its 2754 US Highway 641 N Benton KY 42025 for all you GPS guru's

If you stop in, be sure and identify yourself. I'm thinkin there may be some kind of "special" for all you roadtrip attendees. Not sure yet just what it's gonna be......waitin on the boss to tell us

Believe me, I'll be happy to share the few secrets I know about KY Lake.....wait, you're only gonna be here a week, right???? :P

Great, love to have you!

It looks like I am going to have to skip out on the Saturday night wine party. My wife doesn't know it yet, but I found out yesterday her "Alma mater" is inducting her into their Hall of Fame Saturday night. So I will need to leave the lake around 6:30 to get to the ceremony, which is in Martin, TN. I may stop by early and just say hi to everyone!

Anyway, about fishing - I'll just consider you going on Sunday, unless I hear otherwise - or call my cell 641-226-0999.

Gary, thanks for the kind words - we did have a blast that day, can't wait to go back there.

Is the highway known by another name? Most navigation systems often don't use route numbers. Have no idea why. Route 177 near our house is known to the nav system as American Legion Highway, route 6 (yes the one that runs coast to coast is known as the Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

Many thanks uncle. When driving to a destination, the system does use the routes, "Continue on MA route 24 north.", but try to put it in the address of a destination and good luck. Heck, the only Benton the factory updated nav comes up with is Benton or N Benton, Ohio. Cannot bring it up in KY. But, on the google map, the baloon for Fishermans HQ shows Draffenville, so I'll try that. No problem if I cannot get it to load. It's simple enough according to google maps.

I might be able to take Tuesday or Wednesday off to come down. I'll be in need of a seat as my boat is getting the carbs rebuilt. How can I get with someone on Monday to see if any are available? Someone was nice enough to send me a PM but during the recent site upgrade I lost it.

Thanks in advance

To answer the grill question, yes it is charcoal.

Just follow your nose Tom. I gottta believe an 'ol salty dog like you can navigate his way to the good fishing grounds.

Pack your rain gear folks.....long range forecast is calling for some very wet days.....but NO snow this year!!!

Greg and I got out for 3 hrs yesterday, I got some pics of Moors but haven't had a chance to upload them. We had 20, which the best 5 would have gone right at 16lbs. Get ready......they are hungry!!!

We are getting close folks.

I hope we all load the boat and are safe. A bit of reflection to keep you at peace.

Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish

Until my dying day

And when it comes to my last cast

I then most humbly pray

When in the Lord's safe landing net

I'm peacefully asleep

That in his mercy I be judged

As good enough to keep.

Now go get em!

Saved and printed and put on my office wall!

Amen. Like Deb said, should be wet but hopefully I can leave my snowsuit home this year.

Nothing could be as bad as Pickwick last year, it rain so much I had as much water flowing inside my rain suit as I did outside.

There was so much water in the boat the pump could barely keep up, fish could swim in the boat.
