GitRDoneIke23 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Ok, so I finally broke down and bought some. How do I fish it? What plastics are good with it? What gear? I'm guessing a spinning setup would be ideal. Any help appreciated! -Ike Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Berkley Shakey Worm, *** finesse worm, Zoom Shakey worm...etc etc... I use a medium spinning rod with 6lb yo zuri. What heads did you buy? Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 I picked 'em up at Wally World. I think they're Arkies. I figure I'll start off cheap. and if I like 'em I'll move up in quality. -Ike Quote
Bass XL Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I really like fishing a shakey head. It has bailed me out more then a few times. The technique that has consistently caught me fish is pretty simple. I'll throw it out there and wait until it sinks. Once it hits bottom, I'll let it sit for a few seconds and then I'll pull it a little and then start shaking it. Then reel up the slack, pull it a little bit, and then shake it. Just repeat that until it gets to the boat. I fish it on a 6'6" Medium action Co-Matrix on 6 pound Gama. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I think it is paramount that you use a worm with a floating tail. Quote
snapper G Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Well i was gonna give you the same link as bigbadaaron but, he kinda beat me to it, but its a great video and will tell you all you need to know, hooks, tips, and the best worms to use! But i can tell you that floating worms work the best by far they stick up so they can be seen more easily, and the don't sink to the bottom making it look dead. As far a wights,I like to use between 1/16 once and 1/8 once, when the worm is sinking, keep your line tight because a bass my come a grab it, and if you don't have a tight line, you won't feel the a would be fish! ~~~tight lines~~~ Quote
