My second love to bass fishing is going after the hawgs with whiskers. Last summer me and some buddies from work were fishing a farm pond that right around 4 acres. We had fished this pond all summer long and had great luck with the bass in there, so we decided to try our hand at some of the cats. I went with a big surf rod and carolina rigged it with a chicken liver, and after about 5 minutes in the water we landed a 15lb channel cat, and to top it off it was the middle of the day, 90 degrees outside in the blazing sun in August...moral of the story for the catfish lovers out there, dont under estimate small ponds that are stocked with catfish you might be suprised... :)

The first time I put my little boat on the pond behind my house it was about 85* no wind at all, and my wife just threw out a bobber with a worm on, it wasn't but 30 seconds later she tied on to a something big that was pulling my boat all over the pond lol.  She finally got it in and it was a good 12-15lb cat, good times.

You know bwell theres nothing like throwing that line out, sitting that rod down and see that bend in the rod knowing you have hooked something big on the other end.

My fishing trips are usually @ 30 hours overnight on the boat, time spent between bass/striper/channel/flathead fishing. I caught a 25 pound flathead while bass fishing with a medium action baitcast rig. Took @ 20 minutes to boat it. Loads of fun!
