Nibbles Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I really should try ice fishing... If only the ice was thick enough to walk on where I am. Quote
Nibbles Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 That's great news. Looks like I'll have to bundle up and go fishing then. Quote
farmpond1 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 That's great news. Looks like I'll have to bundle up and go fishing then. Nibbles, I went out to Matt's pond yesterday-thinking it would be thick. Unfortunately, it was only around 2 inches and I had to abandon my quest. It might've been thicker elsewhere but I didn't try-I don't care to venture out where it isn't uniformly 3 inches or more. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 11, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 11, 2011 I am heading back out there today, freezer is full..................for now, so back down the hole they go. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 15, 2011 Super User Posted January 15, 2011 Nice catch ! The good thing about Tennessee is that we're a bit warmer than you guys up north and our open water season lasts a bit longer than yours. The bad thing is that we do get ice-over on the lakes...or periodic ice-out but with water temps in the 30s...but the ice is NEVER thick enough to safely walk on so ice-fishing isn't a remedy for cabin fever here. :-/ Quote
