Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 22, 2010 Super User Posted August 22, 2010 Was out for bass but managed to catch this little cat, nice fight on light gear ;D Quote
bass or bass ? Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Looks like @ 2 pounder. Great eating size. I do my summer fishing here at night because it's just too freakin hot during the day for me. I always put out a medium action rod baited for channels while I'm casting for bass. Gotta have something to eat for breakfast ya know! Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 22, 2010 Author Super User Posted August 22, 2010 Looks like @ 2 pounder. ! Ah very good guess . I did weight it and 2lb 3oz on berkley digi scale. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted August 22, 2010 Super User Posted August 22, 2010 Did you get him on an artificial bait ? I've caught them on rattletraps and inline spinners. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 23, 2010 Author Super User Posted August 23, 2010 No, I used a nightcrawler. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted August 23, 2010 Super User Posted August 23, 2010 thats about like the one i caught the other night. i was using a red eyed shad. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Looks like @ 2 pounder. ! Ah very good guess . I did weight it and 2lb 3oz on berkley digi scale. I fish for catfish as much as I do for bass and I have a pretty good eye for channels weight when they're smaller .I need a few pounds either way on larger ones. I'll say 8 for skunked again's fish. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 6, 2010 Global Moderator Posted November 6, 2010 Is that Killcreek? I didn't know they had any channels that big in there if it is. Maybe that's what broke me off in the deep timber out there! Quote
dulouz Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I have caught more catfish by accident than I have on purpose. I have caught them on crankbaits, in-line spinners, and even a buzz bait. Go figure.... Quote
LunkerBandit Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I caught a cat about a couple months ago in a little pond behind my house. I was using a 3" purple banjo minnow looking for bass and WHAM! this snagged my line Quote
Super User Micro Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 Here's a blue cat I caught on a deep diving Rapala a few weeks ago... Quote
catchnm Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 This BLUE hit my slab when I was casting for strippers a couple weeks ago. I guessed it at 50 lb. It's laying on 2x6's. After some careful cleaning, I got 8 quart bags of nice white meat. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 That's a nice fish. Heck of a fight on bass tackle 'eh? Quote
JigMe Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I have caught more catfish on crank bait than bass. Haha! Quote
