They come in to feed on gobies, alewife, and little stockies/smolts. The Spro Jr. has taken a couple browns. The High Power Herring would probably work, though you have to be real close to the size, especially for steelhead. Browns don't care, when they're eating, they're eating. Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 Re-sent. My Outbox said I could still call it back from you, so it was sent earlier. Big Brother watching over my shoulder, monitoring my PMs probably... Quote
gotarheelz14 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Good Gosh J! What a freakin' fish. I get tired of only being able to catch LM here in my neck of the woods. It's kind of the only interesting thing really... I have recently switched over and started fishing heavily for Crappie. That's about as exciting of a change as I get around here. This spring/summer I intend on hitting the few smallmouth areas in NC hard but until then, Here's to looking at your pics! Quote
Shane Procell Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Awesome looking fish. I'll bet fishing in the snow covered woods would be cool. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Awesome fish, Francho. I need to do some fishing one day up there when I take my daughters to visit their mother. Gives me another excuse to take a flight up north. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Would love to, unfortunately that does not give me enough time to get back down here to work at Gander at 8:45. ;D Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 29, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Gander is open New Years Day? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Gander is open New Years Day? Yeah, don't get me started on that.... > Hell, I had to work from 8:45 until 3 on Thanksgiving Day. The almighty dollar rules again. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 29, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Call in sick. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Call in sick. LOL, you're such a good influence. How about MLK weekend? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 30, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 30, 2010 Can't, got a seminar in NYC the day before, and I don't think we have MLK Day off. Big Blue seldom recognizes national holidays. We got til May. The big spring push for normal steelhead starts early/mid April. But the banks are full of goons by then. Quote
